The SEL Shamrocks have been purchased by Peterborough businessman Ted Wazonek who has no immediate plans to move the team out of Lakefield despite rumours of a move to Norwood.

Wazonek, owner of TNT Lacrosse in the Northcrest Plaza, bought the team from Ray Dance Sr. who started the senior B lacrosse club five years ago. Wazonek has appointed Gerry Henderson as his general manager and Bob Crate as assistant GM. Jim Johnston remains as coach.

For full details see Monday's Examiner and the web.

in the Northcrest Plaza,

Huh??? What kind of press release is this?!?!? Is this is a joke? I realize this isn't he Shamrocks the subject line is tricking people into, but is this for real nonetheless? What kind of press release states what plaza a store is near, when talking about a team purchase? Just found that really odd.

The owner of the store is the new owner of the team. It's smart move promoting both his store (which IS a LACROSSE store) and his new team.

Wow, I must have missed some POST, because just noticed his permanently banned tag there.

Either way, just another example of boxla/indoor lacrosse attempting at being big when they pull small market stuff like this press release.

And the other part of the release I found kind of humorous was that you can find more on this on "the web". Not a certain site, or link, but THE WEB.
