Rock-it Pocket

To all whom it may concern. My name is Alex Smith and I am the General Manager here at Rock-it Pocket. I have debated joining this forum for quite a while, but there has been an awful lot of confusion and rumors going on about our company lately. Let me first say that we think forums like this are a great way for lacrosse to grow and for people of the sport to get together. Let me also say that while the lacrosse business is growing, the sport and our business is still small enough that we value every customer that we can get. We are a small company and it does indeed hurt our livelihood when people purchase "fake" Rock-it Pockets.

To answer a specific topic that a lot of you have touched on, the Rock-it Pocket is absolutely still protected under patent law. I am not sure about the information some of you are getting, but the plaque sitting in the office states that we are protected for 17 years from the date of issue, which was July of 1991. This protects us through 2008. Please know that we are not overly litigious by nature, but since our product is so specific, it genuinely hurts our interests for others to be passing off Flip Naumburg's creations as their own.

We are not Warrior. We do not have money to burn. You must know that you are hurting a small business, the type of business that is very rare and special in our sport, when you illegally sell our product.

Our mission statement is to provide customers with the best possible custom lacrosse stringing that money can buy. Our reviews are among the most comprehensive on the web. Frankly, it gets hard to review everything and I would love it if some of you posters could help us stay on top of all the new heads and handles coming out. Our interests are the customers' interests. Please keep that in mind always.

As I said before, it was hard to make the decision to come on here, but I respect this forum and what it provides very much. I felt that our company deserved an outlet directly to this type of forum. I am not here to sell our product, but I will answer any questions you may have on the issue. Please feel free to call our office at any time or contact us via email. All the contact information is available in the signature.

Thanks for taking the time to read this message and I hope to hear from many of you as independant reviewers and customers in the future.

Sincerely,

Alex Smith
