fractue is a crack not all the way through break is the bone i broken in a couple peices i think
If you're referring to bones, then from a medical standpoint, fracture and break mean the same thing. Basically if the broken bone is under the skin, then it's a closed fracture. If the bone has torn through the skin and is exposed, then it's an open fracture. If the break does not go all the way through the bone, then it's an incomplete or partial fracture. If it does go all the way through, and the parts of the bone can move independently of each other, then it's a complete fracture. An open and complete fracture is often referred to as a compound fracture, although compound is a little bit of an outdated term in the medical community. For more details:

i thought a fracture was when there is a break but not very serious and the bones are still in place, but a break was when the bone is still broken but more serious and out of place n stuff
