Lets hear it and why?

I guess if your looking for a clutch player you cant go past people that have done it before and people that are cool under pressure. at woodville i think James inge would be the man i would toss the ball to if i was charging down from d on a fast break. he can take the hit and slashes and put the ball in the net when it counts

My old team had the decision in the 2006 German Championships. Frankfurt had two great ex-Army D1 players, Tim Pearson (former All American) and Greg Tily (2006 German National Team). Everyone from Aachen was looking for Pearson, but he got the ball to Tily for a point blank shot (stuffed here in the pic by Aachen's goalie Gregor). The game went to overtime and Aachen won 8 to 7.

not quite on thread, but in SA they apparently introduced overtime recently, so that there aren't any drawn games (this is for regular season games) ... i don't know when because i've been away

i feel that draws are part of the game, despite the empty feeling afterwards... i don't think a team deserves to lose (or win) in overtime... although in finals it's warranted because you need a result...

Interesting to see the nominated people....to me there are many great players listed who score plenty of goals week in and week out, however these same guys also make many mistakes.

The pick of Paul Cook from the past is a good one!

Robbie Stark would be a perfect option these days.

From my club I'd pick anyone to drive and let Scotty Menze take the shot - he'd give you your moneys worth!

There's always the hidden ball!

10 seconds down - my man is Ethan Poole (ex Hartwick College then BLC 2006)...however players i respect in SA are Jimmy Inge, Ryan Stone, Howler (when he isn't saving 'em), Lee Perham, Anson Carter......enjoy having all and any of these blokes on my team...

Paul Cook, Cameron Bar-Kemp, Jim De Carlo, Cam Toomey, Chris Baker (maybe not score but definately create), Dano Jennings, John Brewer, Gordon Purdie, Suthy Thouen - All proven game winners.

Today - Hard to go past Ben Newman, Marty Hyde, Nic Leguen, Team Stiglich, Rob Stark.

If I could pick just ONE guy - I'd go for James Inge (SA).

Merry Xmas, Peace and here's to a big year of lax in 2007.

This year playing divi 2 We had 12 seconds left to draw to force over-time. The ball was given to Paul Cook and he scored (of course). We ended up beating MCC in overtime which was probably the highlight of the year considering they had drubbed us earlier in the year by like 20 goals.

5 or so years ago willy were 1 down at camberwell with 5 seconds left and had possession on their defensive restrainting line. ruffy got the ball, ran 5 metres, threw it to dan jennings who stuck it from the restraining line, 5 metres from the sideline. we still lost in OT. dano would be my go to man

Depends on the situation. If we've got the ball and have to clear it from defence then without a doubt give it to Andrew Stone for the full field run and long stick goal. If it's already in the offensive end. Ryan Stone to go it alone or either Adam Hamilton, Robbie Rigg or Chris Averay to feed it to a cutting Nigel Wapper.

I can answer that.........We lost to Surrey by 14 + goals (with a team that featured only 1 player who ended up being in the grandfinal team.....While on a muddy field opposite the remaining players handed Altona Div 1 it's first loss for the year by 14+ goals.......and then 2 months later won our 3rd S/L flag....and Surrey Park finished 4th.....and thats really what everyone remembers.

That team had liek 5 under 17 players one state league player and the rest divi 2 players as they had to give a bye as they didnt have enough players to fill 3 teams.

Don't worry Pumba, no body from Surrey puts any sort of merrit into that win. We know how inexperienced that team was and it was simply a day to try out some new things and boost percentage. I thought the young fellas in that Eltham team held up really well and showed some great potential.

From the outside I would take note 4 of these top 9 players played at different clubs in 2005.

They had only one true MCC player make the AUS TEAM...

And if you believe that MCC were the only team across the state who had to deal with these problems (injuries, travel with the Aussie team, players and spectators) and extended overseas holidays) than your kidding yourself.

http://www.laxscene.com/index.php?m=gamestats&gameID=492

Furthermore this link shows you when MCC played Eltham during the world games, the end result 23 to 7 - Eltham missing 10 players from their Grand final team.

From Sturt - Waps or Riggsie
From the rest of SA - Carter or Hoops (He's got it shooting pretty good now)
From VIC - Tim Fry or Dan Stiglich for the the drive to the goal. Rod Maher for the outside snipe

having spent alomost 10 years on long island, u hear that frank urso was one of the greatest of all time, but to put craig jagear and klay johnson in joffas category is simply rediculous. i played with and against both of them, and whilst i have the utmost respect for both of their games nobody dominated games at every level as jeff did. klay was a personal friend of mine and he is sorely missed, jaegs was probably the best dodger i ever saw in person but jeff did it all. if jeff did not have a heart problem in 82 i am firm believer as is almost any american on that team that the record books may have been a little different that day at hopkins.
