Pocket Response to Goalie1215's "Who needs a Goal-Ex".

I showed him how to string a low whip, low rebound, huge channel Nemmy pocket, then he decided to go Darth Vader to my Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Of course, you know the phrase...

"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can ever imagine" :chair:

A pictures worth a thousand words:

I have a question for you endles. IS any part of the goal ex patented that would keep somebody from making a tutorial on a mega-channeled pocket, such as this, AM17's 'glove pocket' or nemimans pocket which was instructed by EHS?

cavgoalie7
12-22-2006, 09:17 PM
is that 20d or 17d?

To be honest, Im really not sure about any part of the patent on the Goal-Ex. I imagine it would be alright, as long as we comply if they ask us to take it down...

Lax mastuh, it has moderatly little whip for a goalie stick.

Cavs goalie, 20D.

dude, i made the best 20d ever today, but i unstrung it because 12d pwnages.

my nemesis is your nemesises father.

EHSLAX12

that is 20d? maybe im just retarted, i was counting the diamonds and got 17, but ok...

as far as my pocket goes, all i really use from them is the topstring, and orange already used it in his 5d tut, and i used it in mine as well (with no knowledge of that 5d tut till after i made mine on laxstore). and as far as i know, there is no patent or any restriction law that prohibits us from stringing a pocket like a goal-ex. i will say that i have strung actual goal-exs for small profit, just for my backup and for a goalie that i know in CT, but nothing restricts us from doing anything with it.

in my opinion, it doesnt make much sense to make a restriction on a goalie pocket, or a mesh pocket. i understand the cal-lax and the cali connection and how we wont ever get a tut on how to correctly do one, and we should honor that with teh goal-ex. they dont do anything close to the detail that they put into the rp. anyone can emulate a goal-ex, a lot easier than an rp. it just makes no sense because more people can do them, so they wont really gain or lose profit if more people can do them, it just advertises their product.

i think i went on a tangent, but my points are that a. im not gonna make a tutorial because i dont want to rip rp in anyway because my pocket is so close to theirs. b. dont want to just because everyone has a signature, somethin all their own, and i like knowing i have an original mind and c. this isnt patented, and probably wont ever be patented because if they have the same idea that i do, it makes no sense.

Ive thrown with this stick before and it throws godly..(for a goalie stick that is...hehe)

Good job on the ''hardening yet softening at the same time''...haha

If your confused about the diamonds, your probably counting near the scoop, correct? Count in the depth of the pocket. I dont use the one outermost mesh hole on both sides of 20D, so the mesh doesent bunch up.

Jorge, This is the same Nemesis I taught you on...Respect yo' elders damnit!

EHS, Im not sure I completely agree...Everyone is stringing faux CaliCons, which have the same basic idea with a few changes. This is the same concept as that. As long as you dont charge a ridiculous amount or go into extreme detail with it, Im sure it would be ok to make a tutorial.

Hey man, it was great on thursday. I swear, mud is the best way to soften and harden mesh at the same time. Try it sometime if you dont believe me.

That thing is ridiculous! 2 1/2 balls deep?

does that topstring work well? because it looks like it would.

20D OWNS!!!

i wonder why more people srent using 20D, because its the only thing i'll use.

weird thing though, i strung mine the same way and it made a low pocket :chair:

looks pretty sweet, i may end up stringing my teammates goalie pocket when break is over so i might end up PMing somewhere off in the future

Your bottom string is a lot looser than mine, and ive found in a/m sticks that the Goal-Ex topstring makes it a bit harder to make low pockets because the mesh is higher. Id imagine its the same principal.

MikeHenry, yeah, it works wonders. Its alot harder to do it on an Eclipse for some reason though.

Yeah! A 'glvoe pocket' tutorial would be great. that was what I was asking in the first place, somebody to make a tut on a large channeled 20d pocket. thanks AM17

Endles , could we maybe get a more clear picture of the channel, I want to see hwo tight it is.

This is great, with your pictures and AM17's soon to be glove tutorial, I'll be able to put a pretty nice channel in my soon to be eclipse.

Sure thing kiddo, just edited a channel pic in there. Sorry about the off=centerness of these pictures, the screen on my camera is messed up and I can only see the pics after I download them onto my computer.

EndlesFimbulvet

Yep I am.

And no, the channel isnt really lumpy near the throat, thats just my lazy excuse of not pounding the pocket before I took the picture.

nemiman18
12-24-2006, 10:42 AM
it depends, if you have a loose bottom strind it wont be lumpy(ussually) and if it is a tight bottom it will be lumpy

also if you have a higher pocket it will be lumpy, also if your lazy, also if, also if,also if.......
