Okay so I am looking into being a goalie in ice hockey and was wondering if you guys who are goalies had any advice.
I know how to ice skate, but not very well. I heard you have to be the best skater on your team to be goalie so I know I need a lot of practice on that.
I do not have any of the pads yet, they cost so darn much. know any sites where they sell goalie equipment cheap?
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank You,
-James

play one season as a forward in a learn-to-play league...if you learn angles and lateral movement, you will do very very well. Inline hockey play will give you a ton of extra game time...also volunteer with anybody who needs a stand-in (guest) keeper.
have fun, good luck!

Try and check out a local Play-It-Again Sports. The one that use to be here had pretty good used pads at a decent price. Also check out the clearance sections at some hockey websites for a good deal.

No, ebay has had some great deals on some really nice pads. Check that out. As for experience, just go to open hockey with one of your friends, and have him shoot on you for hours and hours. Then get some lessons from your rink's goalie coach if they have them.
