View Full Version : King-Sized Dissapointment

First off let me say that for the first 8 hours I owned the brine Kings, I felt that they were one of the best fitting, most comfortable gloves with the best grip (palms were a little loose but thats okay) i have ever owned. (Yes i got them this morning for christmas)
Now the problem
I was breaking them in a little more around 6pm tonight and i took them off by sliding my hand through the velcro cuff. It wasnt too tight and i thought my hand could fit, as it did a few times earlier that day. Once I started to apply the slightest pressure i heard a slight rip. I have no camera at the moment so I tried to show what happened with paint and it was actually pretty acurate. The only difference is that it is still attached to the cuff to the left, but it is completely severed from the glove itself. I know i probably should have undone the cuff like a good little lacrosse player but the glove just ripping? Thats rediculous.
I am still in shock. Probably will return them in the next few days, hopefully for either macs/g forces or K18s(anyone know about glove warantees?)

wow thats rediculous!! i would be mega sad if that happend to my defts (same length of time owned). i would say go defts or g-forces. you know it may have just been a bad batch though.
oh yeah, this counts as broken, you can return them.

Yeah, but can I get a different glove? Im not so sure that I want to get another pair of kings
Damn dude, that sucks. I'd assume it varies store from store, where'd you buy it? I'd guess that your best bet is to just wait until tomorrow morning and give the store a call.

return them for a new pair of kings then trade the new pair for a new pair of another kind of glove.

i think that with todays need for comfort, i think companies have forgotten about durability. i would explain it to the store and ask them for some other gloves, like supercrosse.

first of all, you can sew it back on....or since this is just a days use... you can get them returned. it happens sometimes in the manufacturing world...stuff just doesn't hold up... now this could be just your pair or the whole run of them. just because some stitching came out doesn't mean you should go with a less comfortable pair.
exchange them for a new pair of kings, problem solved

thats wierd because brine makes pretty good pads. maybe it was a faulty pair. i would just return them for another pair.

exactly my point.
but to also add, if you were to think of returning them for a different pair of gloves...why buy the kings in the first place?

I've actually found all brine pads to be par or subpar, My defts felt well and had good flexibility, but had worse durabilitiy then my mac's palms.

then why ask for them...unless you randomly had rents who knew what gloves were the "best" to get

not that hard to know which are the "best" to get. generally, they're the most expensive ones. But his parents probably didn't wanna pay 300+ for the mac limiteds and settled for kings because they're pretty expensive but not like 180 ish like macs or 300 for mac limited

i re read my posts...and i guess i'm feeling a little bitter. truth is, i work in a lacrosse shop and every couple of days i get some kid coming back in, returning something that is clearly under warranty. i don't live in a huge lacrosse community, it's only wisconsin afterall...but i hear later on that the kid didn't like them b/c his friends made fun of him for having the said item...or they didn't like breaking them in...just one BS excuse right after another.
in this case, the gloves...are under warranty. so the logical thing to do is to return them to the shop your parents got them at, and have them swap out. the only time i see that it's right to return faulty items, and getting something different is if the product is out of stock or is backordered.
i honestly see it everyday in our departments, just not in lacrosse. all the laxers who come in think they know better then i do.
CHSLAX22x...i'm not trying to get upset with you...i'm just saying, they are great gloves. you just got a faulty pair, have your rents exchange them because they are under warranty
that's my rant for the day...

I would get a different pair because I wouldnt want to get a brand new pair of kings just to have them fall apart again.
Which I did today, I just brought them down to comlax and he took them no problems and i got Macs instead. To tell you the truth, Im actually happy this all happened. The Mac Daddies were more felxible, tighter fitting and had a grippier, tighter palm.
Problem solved

Just kidding.
I'd say that would count for a warranty replacement or exchange.

yeah their older stuff is more durable I think, but compared to Warrior I am very happy with the durability of my gloves. I have owned the defts, flights, and now the kings. I love all these gloves. However the Warrior gloves I have owned fell apart quickly and I was dissapointed with the durability.

ya, i got some kings awhile back now but havent used them yet but so far i can tell that the comfort level is up there. i can see how these gloves can be ripped like if you rip them quickly off your hands becuase ive noticed when i take them off that they kinda are a little snug taking them off but other than that i think this is the best purchase ive ever made.

i slip my hands through the cuff...but i guess now I'll be opening the cuff up...mine are red and they work just fine..ive been playing with them since dec. 23rd and we had an alumni game today and they were amazing...
i recomend getting another pair
sounds like my frist pair of gel x factors...(also red)...the entire palmy ripped so that it was only attached where it meets the fingers...i returned them and the new ones lasted a good 2 years...
