I have always dreamed of playing lacrosse after high school, however i am an average player from an average team in a non hotbed area. The only college interest i have generated was from lower end d3 schools (which i cannot afford). My only option other than club lacrosse right now is juco specifically mercyhurst northeast, however the whole idea of junior college is a little shaky for me. I have spoken to the coaches and they said if you play well in juco you can gain interest from ncaa schools and the credits are transferable to most schools in the midwest. Or i can always play club at an instate public university (either akron or OU). I was just wondering what some of you would do in my shoes. I just realized this was in the wrong forum can a mod please move it?

well i would first look into any financial aids and any scholarships you can get to any of those lower end d3 schools. if your grades are pretty good, you should be able to get a scholarship or two. go to www.fastwebs.com and youll finds some. most d3 schools give lots of financial aid because of how expensive they are. if that doesnt work out, i personally wouldnt do juco, just because if you dont generate interest, then its kind of a waste of time. so if the d3 schools dont pan out, i would just play club lacrosse at akron or ou.

club lax isnt bad at all. Check out collegelax.us or somethin like that and talk to some people who play for club teams.
The MCLA is growing pretty quickly, and so is the competition level, just a thought, not a sermon

Club lax at a state university. Education first.

If you want to play at NorthEast I suggest you send a PM to either St1acrosse99 or stinisonfire. Both played there and both moved on to the NCAA level.
Playing JuCo is not sketchy. It is actually very intelligent and can elevate you to levels you could not previously reach. The sole goal of JuCo is to send there players to bigger and better programs after the first or second year and you receive alot of personal developement from the coaches.
Not only this but it could send you to schools you could not previously get into educationally speaking because it gives you another chance to boost your grades. When you transfer from JuCo's the school looks at your GPA from that school..not high school.
Good Luck.
