alright you guys know what I'm talking about- the things you put in the goals only they're not targets, they're the exact opposite..they have holes in the corners and on the bottom and top to aim for.. well on stir it up tom ryan has one made out of a huge piece of ply(sp?) wood and has gaps cut out in the corners..he has it set in the goal somehow just like a $80 warrior one would be.. so have any of you guys made one of these? I figured that when you hit the wood, wouldnt the ball come right back at ya at about the same speed?..seems like common sense not to use one of these, but if they work I'm making one!

No no, you misunderstand me. It is a wooden target, with hoels and all. We just spray painted the body shape of a man, and called him hector the rejector.

You have to connect all four corners of the wooden thinger. If you miss, the wood for the most part absorbs the pressure, and sends it back. Its nothing like taking a shot against a brick wall. Say you practice, and your shots are about 40mph (beacuse you're only practicing your accuracy). The "rebound speed" should be no more than 15-20 miles per hour.

No, the shots don't come back at you at about the same speed, because the ply wood does give a lot. Infact, enough hits in the same spot hard enough will splinter the wood and eventually make a hole in the target, but that's only after a while.

I say go for it and let us know how it goes.

i would try it. its cheaper to use plywood and cut holes in it anyways. our coach recently bought a target for the goal and a lot of people have shot hard enough for the balls to go under the target into the goal.
