Do you put tape around the chin and write a number(s) or initial on it?

I saw Kyle Harrison's helmet and most college laxers.. and they usually have a number(s) or an initial(s) on a piece of tape around their helmet. Do any of you guys do that? i put #77 on it b/c of this girl i like and its her like favorite number or w/e

we did it last year becuase we had one of our defensemen out becuase of a leg injury and he couldnt play so we put RD on our chins for him. he also brought in alot of fans.

yeah you only put tape with numbers/Initials on your helmet if it is for a passed away relative or alum. Not for your gf.

Not really what its for man.. I had an uncle in the Marines who died, so I have "SF" (Semper Fidelis) on my helmet

you do it to pay tribute to someone, or people put their numbers or initials, or they just do it because it looks cool

mine is not for a death, but i do have the numbers 6,13,45 taped on my helmet because they were the numbers of teh three duke lacrosse players.

i don't think you should do it for something like your girlfriend, only in support of a loved one or other lacrosse players, usually i would only do it for a death but i show my support of the players in that way

I have PDJ on my chin for a player who went to a school near me who I knew died.

I used to have a 48 on my chin as well for a girlfriend who was injured pretty badly. (her lax number)

i may just be way off, but i know not everyone is honering a downed player or something, most the people i know have it on so they can tell which is theirs.....

but i don't have any #'s or initials, i would support the duke players, but to have a party like that is just something i don't support, so i'm not gonna support them that much. i think a GF or BF's initials or lucky # are fine, to all their own.

I have an orange peice of tape on my chin gaurd with AS in it. it was a girl from a ski team we competed against in Steamboat,CO so yeah. and her initials were AS (ashley stamp)

I really don't want to sound like a total idiot, but does anyone do this to figure out which helmet is there's in the locker room(if you all have the same helmet) and put there initials or number. That way you know which is yours, because I've worn the wrong one before

I think that has a lot do with it for college players, with all identical team helmets and all. Especially when they're one size fits all CPXs.

We wore the number 2 in memory of a player who went to iraq and was killed in an ambush in fallujah. Its an honor you have to earn to get the sticker. I liked that part of it. Getting the sticker meant something.

I have my grandfather, who died last years, initals on my helmet. Idk how long it will stay there. but its there. haha I remember during a game once, the first one he watched, he screamed kill them and everbody stared..it was awesome..

Some of our older players have an AK on their helmets for an old teammate that graduated before I came to high school. He died of cancer in high school.
