well its technically a preference thread. but i ll try and help. the p2 is more pinched than the revo pro. i mean theres not to much to say, i kno of middies on here that play with p2's and revo pros and then others taht play attack with them aswell. just read and search around tlf for them, find out what you can, check them out in person, and play with them.

Its not a preference thread if people stick to what the threadstarter wanted. Post some pro's and con's of each head from your experience. Don't just throw your own preference at him and say something like "get the revo pro it rocks..."

If it deviates too far away from the threadstarters purpose and becomes a preference thread then i'll close it, but for now---

Enjoy.

The P2 is more fro A/M. I say this because compared to the revo pro it is flimsy the revo pro is very strong and stiff. Although the P2 is more pinched and has more handle.

Revo Pro

Much Heavier
Evo Pro-like pinch
Probably stiffer than the P2 (correct me if I'm wrong)
Probably a little more durable than the P2

Proton Power
Much lighter
Gradual Pinch
More Flexible
Less durable

I would probably go with the P2 if I were you because with what I know (I have never used a revo pro other than some catch) of the two heads, the revo pro is a more 'D' oriented head while the P2 is more of an A/M head. I also like the light weight of the P2.

Isn't the revo pinched to the exact legal specs? Wouldn't that make it more pinched than a PP?

Proton Power: light, sweet pinch, pretty durable, good flex for F/O

Revo Pro: heavier than pp, stiff, more durable than pp, more d oriented

I'd go with the revo pro. I like its pinch more, its stiffer, i like its scoop more.

I don't like STX's saw-tooth scoops, it makes them mroe flimsy. The pro's scoop makes it very easy to scoop. Also, I like to have a head I can trust. I'm nto saying the PP is horribly weak, the revo pro is just stronger.

From my two season's with the Revo Pro on attack here's what I've gathered:

Great head for and player on the field (honestly, people need to stop worrying about the 3-4 or whatever extra ounces)

Awesome pinch for an offensive player, very good "ball retention."

If your an attack man/middie who likes to throw nasty checks at the opposing team but still wants a strong durable head, then this head is for you.

I never had a problem with the "lip" because I am a decent stringer so all of the lip whiners need to learn how to string a little better.

In the end it's your choice, but from my experience the Revo Pro is an excellent head.

well a con of the revo pro is that it warps really fast on F/O. i had a friend that got one and 2 weeks later (hes a middie) it warped.

The Revo Pro warps but has a better scoop (in my opinion) but that also causes lip while the P2 does not warp and has a more flat scoop, the sidewalls are connected directly to the throat making it pretty durable and better for face offs

Mac, any head is going to warp on a faceoff. I don't expect a Proton Power or Evo Pro or whatever to hold up very long doing faceoffs.

From experience, the Revo Pro was stiffer, yet warped more quickly than my friends Evo Pro, who is a creaseman (Boxla position: Person down low who stands in front/near the net). The Revo Pro was used by my friends brother who is 3 years younger than him, and he was a shooter (You can compare them to defenseman in hockey).

Since you play attack and middie, I suspect it won't warp like it did for my friend's brother. His brother was very content about the head before it warped, but after it did, he was very dissapointed in its performance. I have never seen a PP in person, yet I have heared very good things about it. To me, it seems like it is an attack head, while the Revo Pro is more of a middie head.

Hope this helps!

I dont like the revo pro for even defence. It has an odd pinch making it impossible to make a high non lippy pocket. As for the p2, I love it. The scoop is awsome and the pinch is perfect.
