do the tridents have good protection?

tridents are ok but if they are like the older version you cant take the arm pads off the side, i would get the spartans or avalanche, i think they work great and are not big at all, i personally took the arm pads off as i dont care if i get hit there and i have more movement with them off.

If you dont care about ur gettin whacked on your biceps get the brine spartan core sp or the brine avalanche lite. Both minimal weight but still protect. Spartan core actually have plastic caps to.

If you're one to avoid getting hit in shoulder pads like me I use ADAMS LINER from www.lax.com
But chances are you will get slashed by "mistake" or get into a situation where you will get hurt in the shoulders and those things do not protect you at all.
Anyways, I've been using them for quiet some time now, they are great, small, flexible and lightweight.

i think im gunna get the warrior pad liners and put them on under the adams things (i think that will be really flexable light weight and just enough protection)
