Yes, but a healthy chunk of it is Sr. 'B' Talent.

That said, my money's on CHI for better D and goaltending.

LETS GO TITANS. They were getting better and better each scrimage they played. Hopefully they are ready to go.

titians, well duh. The titans have casey powell, ryan boyle, blake miller, nick polanco, roy colsey, brian spallina, and matt alrich. It's not like their athletiscism won't transfer to indoor.

Meh, only two of those have done anything of note indoors (Boyle = ROTY, Colsey = once upon a time ~40 goal scorer).

Athleticism is great, but it's only one piece of the puzzle.

Alot of the players can commit to the sport. I attended a few practices and scrimages and i am not surprised he didnt make the team(He was Not good). One player who stood out was Matt Zash. He looked pretty good for a rookie american.

Unfortunately, the Nll had an "impact" on Casey Powell as well. He was never the same after Pat Coyle flattened him in the 1999 chapionship game.

(For those of you who own War On The Floor, I slow that part down everytime i see it)

casey powell has made an impact in the nll rockstar....
Where?

-Zero championship rings,

-never even a sniff at a league scoring title, offensive player of the year, or MVP.

-apparent lack of dedication even during seasons where he did play. Ask some Rochester Knighthawks fans what they think of him. Forum rules won't even let me print what Buffalo fans think of him!).

Fact is he's dabbled in the NLL intermittently, only played a few seasons and put up lower than expected results.

When he actually showed up for work, he's marked OK numbers, and he's been a better than average player, but I certainly wouldn't go so far as to say he's had a strong impact on the NLL. Has he even once been top 10 in scoring?

Yeah I know everyone here hates on Casey Powell but give the guy credit for making the transition and putting up some solid numbers. Not gonna be a superstar indoors but he can be very effective as long as he isn't the go to guy on the floor. I think he will do well this year.

i'm not a casey powell fan but that was a classless act from coyle. almost as classless was the response from casey's teamates - nothing. casey, for all his warts, did nothing but practically get his head separated from neck.

Coyle's hit on Powell might have been the worst head shot I've ever seen in pro laX.

..........almost as classless was the response from casey's teamates - nothing. ...........

I agree, still can't believe none of Rochester's tough guys answered the bell. (I've seen some of the guys on that team throw down willingly when it was needed, so does that tell you what they think of Powell?)

Take away the Shamrox penalty trouble, and this game isn't even close.

7 of 12 NY goals come on the powerplay. Hell, even their powerplay wasn't great, the Rox even scrubbed three of the penalties away with shorthanded goals!

the slick backed hair guy is a tool, he was on MTV's 1st season of Real World, and then hosted the grind, all in the early 90s. Total geek box.

Is that what the tool commentator said, or are these your thoughts?

I hope they're not yours (or if they are that you are on glue). The game's over and the Taints lost.

With all that powerplay time, no surprise they were winning the looseball battle!

games over i was there so ill give some thoughts...pat maddelena and casey powell played very well for the titans...matt zash was not there and ryan boyle and roy colsey did not do much...for the shamrox josh wasson and billy mcglone each had three goals and cody jacobs also played well...casey powell threw a ton of behind the back passes and was a target all game and cam woods was beating him up constantly...also chris panos from the shamrox was kicked out of the game...final score 15-12 shamrox

How many times did Colsey takea shot that ricocheted back to the half line and turned the ball over? That was really poor "americanized" box play. Powell did very well wearign the C, even the haters have to admit he did control the power play and ahd some amazing feeds. The BTB on the crease was great. Didn't expect to see McGlone do as well as he did. Oh and Nies should be shot in the face. With a gun. loaded with hollow points and shattered dreams.

rampartmiddie
01-06-2007, 11:23 PM
yeah, gooood game. once the shamrox settled down and quit taking all those penalties they really made it happen. the titans did play well, but Boyle really didn't do a thing. it was nice to see montour get some time in chi (he played here in portland last year and was liked) hope he sees lots of floor time with the rox.

congrats to all of you shamrox fans.

The helmets were the standard RBK helmet with the O'Neill mask.....the only difference was that they had helmet decals on them which is unusual in the NLL....

For you field guys, box helmets don't have brims like field helmets do because they are generally used inside.

i watched the second half on tv, and from what i saw, it looked like the shamrox played real well together, better than the titans. their main problem is their penalties, they really have to cut down on that. i have never followed the NLL because there hasnt been a team here, but now i am gonna start following it.

Yeah the penalties were too much which is why it was so impressive the way they won. There's a live online chat with the Shamrox head coach tonight and I'm going to ask him if he thinks the refs were too aggressive in calling penalties or if this is going to be something that they need to work on.
