Ok I now have more information but i want to know is lacrosse an expensive sport to get into or is it pretty affordable. And what do you pring to your first practice or tryout. Should you bring all the equipment. Or like just your stick.

bring all gear for sure.
Lacrosse does not have to be expensive, you can find several places that have great deals on gear.Seriously your best bet is the FS/WTB forum on here.
here are some sites for gear:

if you need more just ask

or go to a used sports store. If you play hockey use you shoulder pade, helmet from there. Just buy kidney pads and arm and bicep pads (if you want to wear those), and you probably already have running shoes. Or if you know someone who is going to be on your team ask them if they have any extra equip from older brother etc.

The first thing you need to do is contact someone in the league you want to join and find out what they require equipment wise. Girls field is obviously pretty cheap. Girls box will require you to wear the same equipment as the boys.

Used hockey gear + a few lacrosse specialty pads is the best bet as per above.
Lacrosse equipment can run from pretty cheap to way over-priced. Shop around, ask around in the league you are going to join, and shop on-line (but be careful of hidden "handling" charges from some vedors or UPS) for used equipment.
I would point you to the Lax Shack website, but it seems to be down. Try National Sports in Pickering, Whitby or Oshawa - they usually have decent gear for decent prices.

Lax Shack is way overpriced. Do what rodies says contact the leauge and see maybe they can help in some way----they might have old equip you can use.

i would not reccomend buying stuff online for your first time. go to a store talk to someone there see what would be best for you and actually see it and kinda try it out before you buy it. Otherwise your gonna see a picture of something see a review thatll say "WOW OMG THIS STICK IS THE BEST THING EVEROMG EVERYONE HAS TO BUY ONE WOWOWOWOWOOWOWOW" and your going to be basing it off that. so yeah go to a sports store that carries lacrosse stuff and do your shoping there.

For your first stuff go to the stores like said before, but make sure you know what you are going to get, or make sure the store has some knowledge of the sport. Don't go to a place like Dick's, where they will sell you anything, even a girls stick...

just use some old hockey gear for like the first little while, thats what everyone does around here untill they can get some new stuff, cut off the wrist thing on some hockey gloves so you have better movement, find some small hockey shoulder pads and then some old elbow pads and your good to go, then you get same some cash and get new gear
