It's extremely important to me. My outside shot is a large part of my game and nothing's worse than having a poorly strung, inconsistent stick.

I think it is important for not only attack but every position to have a good string job, weither its from you or someone else that can string it to your preferences.

I think all players should learn to string sticks honestly.

Its really not all that difficult, and being able to fix your stick into a useable condition if the met gets really wet is rather important. If you cant learn to string, I at LEAST think you should know how to do shooters well. I mean, thats like the most important part in my book.

yeah, to be honest I would rather everyone know how to string sticks. it's a pain in the *** to see everyone who's shooting on the net after school using a stick with my trademark white mesh, green topstring, and black sidewalls style. and then every kid coming up to me atleast once a day and saying, "my stick throws down and the pocket is four inches too deep," "the stick throws down when it gets wet," and my personal favorite "my stick throws bad ('so johnny what's wrong with the way it throws?') I don't know it just doesn't throw good."

especially when the root of all the problems is just a below-average batch of jima mesh.

i concur sometimes its a pain the butt being the team's stick doctor, my personal favorite is "whip WHIP my stick has to much whip" and the my answer do you even know what whip is ?? uhhh no i didnt think so

stringing my own stick is VERY important to me. no one likes their stick just like I do, so i make sure its just how I like it, very whippy, little lip, mid-high pocket, with pretty good hold. I also like a bumpy release, which no one else seems to like.

i do however like stringing other peoples sticks. esspecailly when they're playing with it and someone else tries it and they're like, damn who strung this! its awesome! then the owner points to me. i love it.

im a defenseman, but the concept is still the same..i like to string it myself because everybody's preference of stringing (whip, number of diamonds, type of pocket, shooter layout, etc.) reflects their style of playing. in other words, if you string your own ppocket and fine tune it, you will play fine with it

i agree. it really helps if something like a sidewall snapps so you know how to fix it

for any position you should be able to string your own stick. It boggles my mind that basically one kid from every class that plays lacrosse can string. Me and a pal as sophmores, one freshman who is a stringer at a local store, a junior whose work is less than acceptable, and i know of no seniors who can. I don't know how half of the guys on my team know how to fix their stick when they get issues. nothing is funnier than, "my shooter split apart/frayed?" what should i do?" or the funny things people have done to mesh when the diamonds break....

leanr to string a head how you like it, and you're gold.

well, you might find that you like the way another person strings sticks... it is important to be able to string your own sticks/fix them, but it is also important to see what's out there.. you might discover a different way of stringing that is more tailored to your shooting/throwing/cradling style..

I like to know and be able to adjust everything about my stick. It makes ur play better to have full control of ur stick so that it enhances ur play and doesnt take away from it.
