please listen to me on this. i went through something very similar during the season. I didnt break my ankle but the doctor said it would have been better if i did. I had to wear a cast and go through physical therapy. I thought i was doing great and winging through therapy so i didn't listen and started practicing early (they said i could possibly make the last game...this happened the night before our second game) Unfotunetly my ankle never completely healed and is very weak now, i should of listened to the trainers but i didn't... so the point behind this story, do everything you are told and don't try to start back before you are ready no matter how much u think you are, the doctors and trainers are professionals and they know whats best for your body.

do what they tell you to do!! i didnt go to PT and played too early and now im messed for life man. It'll heal up a bit, but will never be the same. Just do what they tell you to do, even though it might suck a bit

I fractured the fifth metatarsal in my foot.. it took 1 month for me to get the cast off, and a month and about 5 days to finish my therapy to be ready to play again. Now whatever you do, dont start early. I tried playing goalie on my second week of therapy just to get back in the game since I thought it was a position where I wouldnt have to move much (even though I dont really like playing goalie). Apparently I was wrong, my whole leg was still too weak even though the only thing I fractured was my foot. Because of this I contused my toe and had trouble walking for a good week. It was stressful the whole way through the injury and recuperation, but do what you're told and you'll do just fine.

ok, broken record BUT listen to the doc's. If they give you the options, shorter time or longer time, take the longer time. Had a type three sprain in my ankle, screwed for that season because I took the shorter route. It still pops and has scar tissue. It really is a mess

You've never heard of someone breaking their ankle? Obviously you haven't played lacrosse very long, I'm breakin ankles left and right every game, OHHH SNAP!!!haha, literally....

I have thankfully been injury free. My best friend shattered his kneecap playing hockey. After rehab, he started playing again but had to stop because of pain. The doctor told him if he keeps playing, he won't be able to walk when he's older, so take it easy and give it time to come back.

Do not rush recovery. In fact go as slow as possible. I rushed it and now Im going to be screwed when Im older. I have very weak knees and ankles now because of it.

Same as me. It's been 8 months and my right ankle is swollen.
I didnt see a doctor about it or anything though.
Take you time. If they say you might miss the whole season, take the whole season off.

I tore tendons in my foot back in february and it still bothers me almost a year later. I listened to the doctors and stayed off of it but it just goes to show how injuries arent always temporary.
