This will be my first year playing any serious Lacrosse... I've played a little bit with my friends but thats it. I'm a high school junior and will be playing with my school's club team... I have plenty of friends on the team who will help me out but I'd like some tips here as well. I'm basically looking for any tips or advice you guys have for a beginner who hasn't played much Lacrosse at all... I also am gonna need to buy equipment so any advice on what my best option as far as that goes is appreciated.

Thanks for the help guys.

I was in the same boat bud, a couple years ago. I remember the first thing my friend did was slap me across the face and told me to never tighten the strings on the wrists of my gloves again.

Make sure you're in tip top shape and can do a lot of running. Most of the kids had tons of experience on me, but I got a fair amount of playing time because I'd hustle and I wasn't afraid to hit kids. Stick skills with come with practice, but it will take some time. Just make sure you're not afraid to hit and never get tired of running. It's better to hustle and not be able to cradle cause it shows you have heart and are willing to bust your ***, than say, if you are sweet with a stick, but just jog off the field and just lull around.

That's really a life lesson, if you lack experience and make mistakes but give it your all, your boss/coach/instructor will have faith in you because they know you're trying.

What has helped me alot is have your stick with you as much as possible. become its best friend and he will treat you well also. the more you have the stick in your hands the better you can become. work both hands cradle when your walkin around the house. watch highschool games on e-lacrosse and just become familiar with the game. the more your around the sport the better you will get. simple.

MakiMaki13 behind the back shots, sidearm , and low to high shots, dodging make sure to use your left hand a lot, and watch a lot of highlights on e-lacrosse.com

Live4it groundballs

woulax23 wallball, switch hands

pantherlax You could have fun with faceoffs since you dont have a position yet. I like messing around with faceoffs and trying new stuffs, especially with a partner. And that can help with groundballs also. Theres are a couple faceoff stickies so check that out.

navylax1011 go to threepowells.com and do the wall drill its crazy

exxlax Fundamentals. You'll never be able to shoot if you don't have the ball.
Practice dodging, cradling, left & right handed shooting/catching. Catching/passing while running...
Recruit a friend. Have him try checking you. Use him to practice the dodges.

laxattack11 shooting right out of a dodge, shooting/passing right after a ground ball, tricky shots if u want such as behind the backs, underarm, high to low, around the world and through the legs, and shooting with your left hand.

Sorry about long post, just things that people have told me to practice
