searched. and did the advanced search. got nothing. feel free to post somewhere to go if i missed something.

but im thinkin about working on my face offs just for something extra that i can do.

problem is. im small. like. 5'5 small. not very thick but not incredibly skinny.

i know that size can sometime mean the difference in face offs, but are there ways to work around size, or should i just forget about face offs?

the lower you get the more leverage you will have against bigger/taller guys and small faceoff men can still dominated the X with quickness and speed

In my opinion, size is irrelevent for face-offs. You just have to take advantage of what you have, in my case, size; in your case, more than likely speed. Just try it, the worst that can happen is you find out face-offs aren't for you. But at least you can say that you tried out a new position.

You might not beable to box out the other face-off guy off of a clamp shoved backwards, so you might want to try and set your wings up to get the ball by flipping the ball in their direction. Just make sure you give them a heads up on where you are going with it.

In there, lies workouts to get you bigger for faceoff's.

But it doesnt matter for faceoffs, Some people are short and stalky, some are tall and normal, it's all about leverage and where you put you you center of gravity, and how your reactness speed is, I've faced against people who are 5'4 and I've faced people who were 6'5, I havn't noticed much of a difference.

Bigger guys play more body, and like to lazer jump the ball and then just go for the hit, smaller guys tend to try to be as quick as they can and get out of there.

Find what works, You can do fine.

Face offs are a game of rock, paper, scissors. There are 3 basic moves, and each can be defeated by anyone regardless of weight. If you know what your opponent is going to do, you cannot lose.

You being wispy, you can expect a larger opponent to try to bull you or to clamp you.

As long as you get low, use your leverage and low center of gravity and play scrappy, hard-nosed lacrosse, you can be just as good at face-offs as the next guy.
