Well, as I was swimming in the pool today playing around with my Mini Stick.. and I tried to shoot the ball and there was a lot of resisitance.. and i was thinking that might help increase shotspeed?? Maybe it's just like playing with a weighted shaft.. Iunno if it would work but it's just a thought. :angel

Seems like it would be easier just to use a wieghted shaft.

They do that in golf. Swining/throwing underwater puts resistance on and somehow forces you to swing on the proper plane i guess.

i think it would be easier to play with a heavy shaft
also heavey shafts kill some of you bad happets from waht i see

well you would have to go to a deep part opf the pool also. considering when you shoot your stick is above your waist for most of it. and proper form would somehwta require water above your head also to have resistance through the entire shot.

I take my old stick in the pool all year round...indoor pools rock!...and I have sand and/or pennies in my other sticks for when I practice when I dont have a lacrosse game or practice...
**Edited to say..It helps alot with speed

I heard that using a weighted shaft could mess you up though. I forgot exactly how, like the mechanics of your throw or something? I dunno, anyone know?

I guess a weighted shaft could mess you up because it screws with the balance of a stick. when you use a weighted shaft, the shaft is like 10x heavier than the head, which usually isnt the case. I dont think using it for short periods of time to build strength will really mess you up though

they use pools for baseball too, put them in waist high water and they swing through the water, ppl also do it for physical therapy when running to build muscle without lifting directly on leg.
