I have to prepare a 45-min presentation to HS and Youth coaches on the 2007 NFHS Rules and I'm looking for recommendations on areas/topics (other than 2007 Changes and Pts of Emphasis) that will make the best use of the 45-mins of quality time I have with coaches.
Any and all suggestions will be appreciated especially from those of you who are officials and coaches.

interference with the goalie, half the coaches don't understand this rule.

"Gentlemen Coaches...how would you like us to proceed with stick/equipment checks this year in our area? Current NFHS Rules allow us to a) keep the mechanic as in the past b) adopt the college mechanic of 6 random checks per game or c) something in between a and b?"

That should be good for a couple hours right there! :agree:

As I said in another thread, I think we should make the checks random (as in NCAA) and maybe negotiate how many we do for NFHS.

Asking the coaches what rules they have trouble with might give you an idea. Asking local officials what rules the local coaches have trouble with would help, too.

Crease is a good place to start. TPOAD is a good concept to explain.

Current NFHS rules state we must do at least one per half...not when or how they should occur. The way the language is presented, it could be random.
