Do the goalies and dmen here think that goalies and dmen are closer knit than with the other positions, because of the trust goalies put in their dmen?

sure do, you HAVE to have trust with your defensemen, otherwise your defense will fall apart..

yea, even in pickup games where you first meet your dmen you should get names, position (crease d, out, etc.). Plus when we do drills or anything its usually goalie and defence on one and attack/mid on another.

Not only must the goalie trust and rely on the defense, the defense must trust and rely on the goalie also to call out positions, ball location, and commands.

absolutely

no matter what team im playing with, i always find atleast one d-man to get really close with and build a trust. once you get one, the others just come along.

Yeah, but i'm not talking about off the field trust, if you were in a pick-up game who would you need to be communicating with? The defense.

the d needs to trust the goalie as much as the goalie trusts the d

my D and i are super close nit, we make a point to go out together, eat, and spend as much time as possible together so that we know every tendecy eachother has... we also try to be the best at practice, setting the example for the rest of the team

def true- even in girls lacrosse, the d and the goalie are always close. you have to be, otherwise you can't trust each other completely during a game and then you fall apart

i know that there is no bond closer in lacrosse than between the defence. Those three poles and the goalie have to pick eachother up when they are down, they pick up the slack, when there isnt enough being done. i know on our team, if one pole is having trouble, the first to calm him down and get his head back in the game, is a pole, or a goalie. Same goes with the goalie. If he is getting shots on him all night, the defense is the first to tighten up, and not let any shots through.

F0 line mates are pretty tightly knit as well...

I trust them, but I do no trust them. As in I go for the ball for myself, but I know they have my back.
