unfortunately I do not have the money or time to join a gym, so I have been lifting at home. because of this, I have not gotten the chance to work my back and lats much but I do realize the importance of these muscles and want to increase their strength.

at my house I have dumbbells, a whole racking station for squats or bench press, a bench, a bar, a curling bar, and around 240 pounds of weights.

Besides just doing pull ups, what else can I do to work my lats and back? I was thinking for back work I could do morning glories but besides that I am clueless. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time!

Close/Wide Grip Chinups
Bent Rows
Deadlifts
Romanian Deadlifts
Sumo Deadlifts
Reverse Flyes (to an extent)
Bent Shrugs

reverse flys work your posterior deltoid and your trapezius. not your back.

Dumb bell military press is a good one...but really if you want to hit the back and lats you need a bar to do deadifts, and bent over rows.

They are aimed at your deltoids, but really you cannot do them without using your back, which is why I added "(to an extent)" because I knew someone would try to bring it up.

i see ur point, seeing has how you do have to pinch ur shoulder blades together when doing rev fly

Exactly, if you're doing it properly. I was trying to think of an exercise that better mimics that contraction, but I figured most people would be scratching their heads if I said "Reverse Push-Up Hanging Lat Squeeze" or "Bent Shrugs"

After posting this I also did some more research and found the best site, bodybuilding.com but it is cool to see all your answers and advice. I came up with my workout for back lats traps shoulders and neck... which is one killer hour and some odd minutes.

but yeah thanks for being helpful guys : )

with the barbell you can do dead lifts and bent over rows with varying grips. you can also do one arm rows with the DB's. and with the barbell you can also lay it on the ground, and stack weights on one end. then straddle the bar so your standing over it and with one arm pull the weight up. you may need to put a weigth just lying on the other end of the barbell to keep it in place. bodybuilding.com is a great place for workouts and exersizes
