For a while I have just been eating healthy but now with the new semester I have time to lift again and am doing so rigorously, (3 days so far haha, but plans to continue). Of course I want to bulk for the oncoming season and know results are slow, I have lifting experience.
I am 16 and a half, a junior in highschool, 5'8 and I was 132 pounds but pretty well defined from lifting. Currently I am quick and fast but too I need to gain weight.
My questions are these...
The first is since I am so small, does the eat 6 meals kinda diet still apply? I mean I am not some 200 pound machine haha. If it is really a just eat healthy but a lot and take supplements if your serious kinda thing than I am stoked haha eating a lot is sweet.
The second question is similar to the first. Is there such thing as too much water? I know you can die from water intoxication someone in my area just did a week ago from a radio contest. I have been urinating at least 10 times a day to give you an idea of how much water I have been drinking. Should I continue to always have water around or cut back or drink more? I am kinda worried about intoxication is all haha
thanks for the advice!

whats your target weight your trying to hit generally speaking you wanna eat about that many grams of protein per day , that and uping your calorie intake would also help like an additional 500
for water you should only be drinking around a gallon a day, peeing 10 times a day sounds like an awful lot to me

they make bulking supplements to add make into like a small shake...those do work, in small poritions. one of my d poles did it for football and drinking it along with lifting works great. just cut a bit of the water, not too much, and eat more protein as well.

Its a simple concept
Eat more than you burn = weight gain
Eat less than you burn = weight loss
Start with 500 per day and if after a week that isnt enough then increase it by another 250 per day until you begin gaining .5-1lb per week.

Eat three or four big meals a day. Basically, you have to take dieting advice, and reverse it. Big breakfast, a good sized lunch, and pig out at dinner. Make sure your have a nice bedtime snack too. Keebler's Softbatch cookies, mmmmmmmm. That and ice cream will now be your best friends.
As for water, it's hard to get too much of it. You'll start puking before water intoxication sets in. I drank a liter in 45secs for a class presentation once and experienced no ill effects. After questioning my A&P professor, who in turn contacted an MD, they said even swallowing 1 gallon in 1~5 minutes would not be too troublesome, just that it might put some pressure on my kidneys......which my father, PhD, disagreed with. Bottomline, unless it's being force fed a la The Good Shepard style, you don't need to worry about it too much.

thanks wister. I looked at bodybuilding.com and found a good diet routine. im doing a clean bulk though so I am staying away from unhealthy foods. I plan on eating 3-4 thousand calories a day spaced in about 4 meals with snacking. basically eat whatever healthy food I want and drink tons of water. it is working really well so far.
thanks for the advice and definitely thanks for the clarification on water, wister.

I gain weight fairly easily and I ate 3-4 thousand cals, if that doesn't work you may need to up it, and that's why dirty bulks for skinny kids work, yu won't hold much fat if yuo're an ectomorph anyways. Eating 3-4 thousand cals clean is tough. my opinion dirty is the way to go. Or at least semi-dirty.
