I like four straight wrapped hockey laces and two rails in the pocket. Extremely smooth release.

2 straight, the a U/V shooter under that, then 2 leathers on each side, by the way has any seen rail mesh for sale besides lax international?
On my goalie stick I use two hockeylaces and a U hockey lace.
On my finalizer I use 4 boot laces, starting at the top and skip a line on the way down, then I put a U that runs right under the last boot lace. Extremely smooth release, though since the pocket is so low in the pocket, people that like their pockets high in their stick with a quick release might find this a little too slow coming out although it suits me fine. I have tried using less but I find I need this many shooting strings because when you can shoot pretty fast, and I have a decent shot I like to think, the stick gets whippy with only two or three shooting strings. If you look at all the fast shooters in college or the MLL, you will see what I mean, David Evans, AJ Shannon, etc all have a ton.
