i think it's sidearm, but at the same time it's the easiest shot to follow from a goalie's standpoint.

overhand is the easiest to shoot because you can drag your stick down the path you want to release at. Ask any coach how you should shoot.

For picking corners, overhand, definitely.

If you get good with behind the back, though, those can be deadly.....goalie can't even try to read your eyes, and usually has absolutely no idea which part of the goal you're shooting for. These can be used sparingly, and are great if you are close to the crease holding your stick in the wrong hand for the side you're on....you get to face the passer, and snap a nice quick shot without having to turn, switch hands, or step across the front of crease.

Sidearms only seem to work well if you're shooting around a defenseman, kinda using him as a screen.

Do it straight up with no cover, and good goalies seem to stop these more often.

i think for all shots its overhand. When i first learned shooting the coach explained it to me this way: If you bring your stick straight overhand then you only have to control how high or low to shoot, but if you shoot sidearm/diagonally, then you have to control how high and how low, but also how far to the right or to the left.

i think my sidearm shot is faster but my overhand is more accurate.

My 3/4 is definately faster than my sidearm, by about 5 mph (which is a big chunk, when you think about it). I like sidearm for bouncers, because it confuses the goalie. As someone said, overhand for picking corners, and cranking from the restraining line I almost always use overhand shots, because my sidearms curve past the goal if im out too far when I shoot.

if you shoot straight overhand you can be very accurate as long as you get your release points down

my over hand is really accurate when i dont hide my stick, but when i try and hide it it gets pretty bad. something for me to work on.

I'm best at with 3/4 but underhand is a close second.

overhand cuz the coachs would always yell at u for shootin sidearm cuz its harder 2 keep it accurately
