Has anybody else seen the list? I just saw the list of all americans on laxpower.com and i saw that there was a sophomore from the MIAA from boys latin. Pretty damn impressive.
Walker Hewlitt, who's a junior from Utah, played on my winter league team. Chris Powers, of Alta, Utah, was a coach at the camp I just went to. Other kids should be up there from Utah, but they aren't.

it isnt "all AMERICAN" if there are 300 of them

Yeah im a freshmen, the statement was basically a joke, lol. Yeah, SP beat the **** outta us, but its cool. They always have and will always be good. They have good feeder programs (Green Hornets Intramural, good, GOOD team) and 45 kids on each team, JV and Varsity. There just an all around bigger school, and yeah, there good.

yea ive never really heard of northeast but watever, i checked out ur game scores they rnt too good either oh well, do u start? or r u a risign freshman
Walker Hewlitt, of Utah, isn't all that great, either. However, Chris Powers was recruited at Cornell and Loyola, but chose the BYU club over both of those schools, so he deserves to be on there.

i am not sure how good utah lax is right now because i have never seen a ghood team from there even all star teams but who knows. I think that there might be too many nominations for all american btu it is based on regions and the only way to fix it would be to reduce them by regions. I know that the los angeles all americans would not even start at my school so. . .
That is true, that Utah lacrosse isn't great. There have been some amazing players out of Utah, 2 this year. Jarom Gunderson is going to play for Navy, like his dad did, I think, and Chris Powers is sick. I hope to improve that much before I graduate, but I dunno.
The problem with all awards is that they're really superficially judged, meaning typically better people exist but just aren't chosen. That's why I basically hate all awards shows, because the one who really deserves it usually never gets picked. So I wouldn't sweat it too much if you're on/not on the list. No one saw every game of every player, so in some way they're going to have to be inaccurate.
I said I hope to improve that much, so basically I want to feel as though I'm the same caliber as those players. I don't care if I'm recognized with an award, I want to be recognized with a good college program. I'm shooting for BYU, though.

AA's from my home state are a pretty accurate in their winning of the title compared to their skill

There was a junior from georgia (attack) that made it... and there was a senior (attack) on his team that definitely shouldve been aa over him.
Ill give an example though... at a recruiting camp in pa... an aa junior goalie from Ga did not make the all star team, but another junior goalie made it over him... i dunno, it's obviously not the most definite guage of skill

na the real problrm is you cant compare how good peopel are because of the different levels of competition. i played with a couple of the aa's form montgomery county in MD and they suck compared to the guys from the miaa and iac and all the bigger conferences but they still get the same recognition. i think its kind of misleading, so u can never tell how good someone is based on the lists.

it would almost work better if they gave out AA recognition by region, which they sorta do, but by dividing it, people would be able to compare and contrast better... it's still an honor though, even if a soph can make it, i bet that soph can kick some butt
