Untill a few months ago I had never even heard of box lacrosse. I've only been playing field lacrosse for 3 years so i guess you could call me new to the sport but not really. Mostly I just wanted to know what are the real differences between field and box lacrosse. I know field so you dont have to explain that to me just box. Also send me links to any other posts on this.

Well box is way smaller obviously, there isnt offsides cause there arent defense/ attack, box has a smaller goal, the goalie wears more gear, and more checks are legal.

doesnt box lax pinch their heads so theyre illegal for field? wats the point of that anyway i never got it. and doesnt the goalie take up like the whole goal? like in that one beer commercial with the hockey goalie who was HUGE and theyre like you dont have to be an athlete in some sports... (or somethin like that)

you get to hit people... it's fun! but then again I don't know how field is played, girls or guys. But if lacrosse were played in the traditional way, Laxergirl and I wouldn't be allowed to play, you'd have no equipment, no shoes, the field would be a hell of alot bigger and it'd be much more painful.

Box players have pinched ever since most started using the tupperware sticks (plastic heads). These old-school wood Indian sticks that were made for box were super-tight, so the players are just matching that.
What's the point of pinching?
Better hold, better channel for accurate shots, that's what.
In box the head only has to be 4.5" rather than a 6.5" at its widest. Pinching gives you a significant competitive advantage, so why not use it?
As for the goalies - some of the best are great big fat guys. Most are real athletes though. Put a set of goal equipment on , and play a one hour stop-time game in a sweatbox arena in the middle of summer and see how much weight you sweat out! More than the runners, believe me!
They mostly wear all that equipment because they're allowed to - it not only helps guard the net, but it protects them....when you're facing up to 60 or 80 shots a game, most from 15' or less away, you'd want extra protection too!
