how would you make a woodie with a block plane??...i have no power saw and really want to make a woodie..also what exactly is a block plane...

Wait, if you don't even know what one is, how do you plan to even attempt a woodie, or get the idea? NAd what you would have to do, if it is what I am thinking, is using a 1X1 (i think) piece of wood, shave each corner down.

i was hoping i could gain some knowledge from here..is it hard to shave it down...how long would it take approxiametly..?

It depends on the wood, it could take a while to get it perfect.

Believe me, you don't want to use a block plane. They're more suited to smoothing the ends across the wood grain, not going along the grain.

Smoothing with the grain is easier no?
I would suggest finding a buddy who has a table saw.

Smoothing with the grain is easier no.....
Its not that, it's that a block plane is the wrong tool to shave a shaft.
