Im looking to get a new shaft for this upcoming season for High School Lacrosse and i was wondrering if harrow shafts tend to be on the weak side and if their worth the money?

they're fairly strong. i'd recomend getting a used one off here, because i do think they'r prices are kinda jacked.

The prices of harrows are no more expensive then other high end shafts. That being said, while i'm currently back to playing with an alloy shaft, my harrow will always have a special place in my heart; its pretty beastly too.

the ibeam is pretty weak i wouldnt recommend it past 8th grade
what you should do is try to buy an old one off of here. the older ones are the stronger ones.....but they might cause cancer....

Uh, I snapped my field attack AND my I-beam playing middle school lacrosse. I don't recommend it.

howitzers, monsters, box, and possibly the new Ronin? are all pretty reliable pending reviews on the new ronin. I have a Howitzer D pole as my game stick and it works wonderfully

Harrow shafts are pretty strong and light, though they are known to have their paint chip like crazy, (or maybe those are just the old ones?)
The howitzer is a beast, two defenders on my team use them, as well as three attack men. As you can see in the pictures, it is thick in the middle, I only shot with one a few times, and I didn't realize it much. It is composite so it has a smooth, rubbery feel, (provides a little more grip I think).
I think the box sticks are heavier, made to take harder checks.
I haven't seen an I-beam or field attack outside middle school.

My friend got one of the old harrows when they first came out, they were made out of wood, among other things.

Either pick up a box or monster.
Box is kinda like a suped up feild attack, heavier and stronger. Has the harrow rubberized grip. Paint chips from hard checks.
The monster is to a box as a box is to a field attack...kinda? Much heavier, might be one of the strongest shafts ever made. Doesn't have the full rubberized grip, but the labels are kinda rubbery. Paint doesn't chip often.
I use the monster as my gamestick, its not to heavy for me and i'm not in highschool, great investmant. 100+ dollars new, i think the wister is selling one though.
Edit- No experience with howitzers
Feild attacks and ibeams are not strong enough for for higher level play, IMO. I've seen a lot of ibeams snap, and heard of a bunch of field attack breakages. Not really a sound investmant if you ask me.

I've heard about field and i-beam shafts breaking easily, but the box, monster, and howitzer are supposed to be extemely strong.
Yeah i agree with isthatkid.
And if you are interested, I have a Like New Harrow Box shaft that I have for sale in the FS/WTB Forums.

if you are interested in a field attack id advice you to get one on here or on ebay. i got a brand new field attack (brand new) for 40 bucks (thats with shipping). i def. agree with every on saying the I-beam is bad but dont really agree with the field attack is as weak as the i-beam. i ve only had my field attack for like 4 weeks (i scrimmed with it and have done a bunch of 1 on 1's (full contact) with it and i havent even chipped it yet. if you dont mind the extra weight then i say get a monster or box.

Thats the thing is I've had a wonderboy (regular) for summer league and winter and I have no dents so my stick stays pretty well protected. So i dont know if the extra strength in a monster is worth the extra weight

well if you have good stick protection, and dont hit your stick around like a mad person, its easy to keep a stick dent free
my al6000 is dentfree with only a few scratches cuz i dont go around hitting peoples sticks.

i'm a defensmen, and a lot of the i-beams i've seen break were because the player wasn't in good form, and didn't get shots of fast enough (so either my pole or someone elses would come down on the flex point and ultimatly snap it)
the field attack has similar problems, but less frequently, box's sound great. howitzers i don't like, i like the traditional shaft shape, the howi has a kinda powergrip-esk feel to it.

If you do not like the extra weight try out a box. Should easily hold up for a while, havn't heard of too many of them breaking. It is a bit heavier then a wonderboy, so I recommend trying it out at a shop, or trying to compare the weight. Good luck!
I know i posted in here already, just thought i'd respond to your "Im not sure if the extra weight is worth it.
