This is for all of you playing NCAA Lacrosse, or did. I was just wondering if you could describe your average day, and how much time you spend doing what?

Thanks

You mean on an average day or at practice?

Yeah, an average day, like when you wake up, classes start, when you eat/Study, when practice starts and ends, when you work out, etc.

At my school (D1). It depends if it's preseason or in season. During the fall, by the time you add up traveling to the locker room, conditioning, lifting, shooting sometimes I usually spend 3-3.5 hours a day on lax stuff. I take 4 classes which is the normal load at my school, and have between 12-14 class hours per week but that varies a lot based on what classes you take. If you have labs you could have as much as 20 hours of class time per week. Homework and studying usually takes up around 3 hours, more if you have a big assignment due soon but sometimes less if its a down period. When you wake up completely depends on your class schedule, unless you have morning practice (like i did this fall) in which case you are up at 6.

General weekday for me (ie Monday / Wednesday / Friday)

9/10 - Wake up / Food
1030/1230 - Classes
1230/130 - Halo / Food
130/230 - Class
3/6 - Practice
6/9 - Shower / Dinner / Halo
9/2 or 3 - Homework / Movies / Res Life (I'm an RA)

Haha, some girl at a party called me a cocky, conceited ay-hole because I was talking about how most of my day consists of lax and video games...

Keep in mind, I have a class on Tuesday only, then two additional online classes (18 hours this semester! Wooo!)

how much do your schedules change from when its offseason or in season

Eclipse
01-24-2007, 05:51 PM
Basically just the 3-4 hour block you have for practice. Even in Fall Ball though you give up a couple hours a day when you have practice.

Yeah and you no longer get the priority times. My soccer friends have practice from 9-11 at night and lift at 6:30 in the mornings. We had a block in the middle of the day during fallball. No matter what, offseason schedule is never what you want it to be.

I don't live on campus.. no one does, but my schedule is probably alot like a H.S. schedule unfortunately because of certain fundamental differences between a community college and d1-d3 schools.

In the fall- Mon,Wed,Fri
8:30- Wakeup
9:00-2:00- Classes
2:00-3:00- Team studyhall
3:00-5:30/6- Practice
7:30-Bedtime- Whatever I want

Tues-Thurs
9:00-2:00- Classes
2:00-On- No practice, individual things. (Lifting, organized basketball, wallball, pickup lax, etc.)

In the spring it's going to be practice every day obviously, including Saturday mornings. I haven't started classes yet but we've been practicing everyday this week and last. Studyhall's/Team meetings start up when school does too.

7:30 Breakfast
8 Class
9:20-30ish Class Ends
10-12 Practice or Lift
12-1230 Lunch
1230-end of day, Chill

Tues and Thurs however, pratice again 9-11pm, and class also is 5:15-7.

mines a bit different because we do trimesters instead of semesters, and i only have 3 classes.

and MW there is study tables from 7-9 if your GPA is below a 3.0, but im exempt

I play d3.
This is pretty much our weekday schedule:
7am practice/run. On Tu and F we practice and on Th we run.
8-10:45am classes on M and F -yes I have to leave practice early
11-ish am shower and grub up.
12-1:45pm class
7pm practice/run. Opposite of what we did in the morning.
+whatever other classes I have during the week.

Monday is our off day.
We have an 8am on Sat and an 10am on Sun. On Wed we have practice at 1pm then again at 6pm. We have two a days everyday until Feb. 16th. Plus classes and work and trying not to fall asleep in class, it's difficult.

A look at the life of a college club player at a virtual varsity program, looking to go D2 in 2008--

Monday-Wednesday-Friday

11am -- Lunch
12pm -- Classes
4pm -- Workouts
6pm -- Dinner (except on Friday's, team dinner)
7pm -- Downtime
9pm -- Player-led practice (loosely run)
11:30pm -- Curfew
12am -- Homework
1am -- Bedtime

Tuesday-Thursday

11am -- Chapel
12pm -- Lunch
1pm -- Work out/pre-practice/study
4pm -- Practice
7pm -- Team bible study/dinner
9pm -- Homework/personal workout (wallball, dodging, etc)
11:30pm -- Curfew
1am -- Bedtime

One difference I notice between my schedule and other schedules is the schedule of my day. I only have classes on MWF, which allows me to really work hard on my off days. The ability to "sleep in" every day is really nice too. I can concentrate *much* better in the classroom and on the field.

azlax...as you can see everyone's schedule is different. there are many different things that can affect this as far as your own course schedule and what you enjoy doing in your free time. i could post what i do, but it would just be another different schedule from everyone else's. regardless, you get the idea of how college schedules are.

this being said, your best bet is to actually ASK THE COACHES AND PLAYERS OF THE COLLEGES YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ABOUT HOW THEIR SCHEDULES ARE RUN. don't be afraid to write e-mails, call, hell...message a lax player on facebook (not in a stalkerish way though). point is, the best way to know is to ask yourself (the places you are considering).

best of luck!
