Ithaca is a great school with a good lacrosse team not to mention a beautiful campus(cornell being right across the road is also nice). there team is fast and relies on transition alot. they beat us in OT the first time we met last year. they are a very young team and will only get better as time goes on. they were in the empire 8 finals against us with a perfect record. We beat them by 4 I think in this second match up.
either way
very good program, it will take some skill to get on their team.

I attended Ithaca 20 years ago and started on there lax team as a crease attackman. They are always ranked in the top 20, and when I played, they had a great schedule of national contenders. Since the advent of the smaller divisions such as Empire 8, the schedule is not as strong, but they have remained competitive on the national div 3 scene. I also worked hard at my academics and got a great liberal arts degree, which I have steadily built on over the years. As for the coaching, Jeff Long is as good as any coach out there, and I mean Division 1, 2, & 3. He is an All American from Navy, and has also coached the US national team. Ithaca is lucky to have him. The college is currently buidling a state of the art field house / stadium, which should bolster their facilites considerably. Ithaca has always been a powerhouse in many different sports, and were national champions in football, baseball, and rowing when I was there in the 1980's. And one more thing....besides playing great lax and getting a solid education, the ratio of female students to males is 4 to 1.....couldn't ask for a better place to learn!
