Okay....ive been stringing sticks for a while now and am pretty good. The stringer at my local lacrosse store strings his sidewall string all the way through to the bottom. So instead of knotting them at the sidewall and using a new string for the bottom; he just uses the same one. Any of you guys use and experiment with this method. I heard its a lot easier to make a low pocket. If any of you know or have tried it out let me know what the differences are. By the way I like NO whip. Thanks

From my experience it is a bad method but it is mostly preferance.

i dont think its a good idea because if you want to have a loose bottom string, its hard to keep the sidewalls tight.

basicly if the bottom area is loose then sidewall becomes losse. also it make it hard to ajust (sp?) anything imo.

it's really just preference... my biggest problem with it is that it makes the pocket harder to adjust since i'm always tinkering with my pocket in some way, shape, or form. that's up to you though

does he knot it before going to the bottom string? b/c if he does then it is no different but prob. saves a little string. if not, then he risks his sidewalls losening considerably, not a good thing if your into consistency.

For me (preferance though) the one string if you put the bottom tight its easier to make a high pocket but if you use two strings its easiers to make any adjustments i usually use two strings in case i need to make adjustments on just the bottom or side wall i would go with two strings but only preferance..

I do it, just make a knot, it really doesn't matter. And if you string a pocket right(double up) you shouldn't need a tight bottom string anyway.

My AV8 was strung from the shop with this setup. It's nasty. No flexibility in the pocket at all. If you wanted to loosen the "bottom string" to make a lower pocket, the sidewalls suffered and you end up with a flabby pocket :S
