You have to be confident, I wasn't scared at all, well I didn't have any cuts, but just be confident, and by using TLF you have one up on anyone who doesn't.

Hey, just play your best. Your either going to make it or not, don't spend time worrying about it.

The thing is, is that you may think you'll do bad because you've never played or compared yourself to anybody in a game situation. Who knows, maybe you'll be the best, and if not just play as hard as you can.

yea when i go to tryouts whether its for school or for a club team im always just very calm and i think about playing MY game... so even though its your first year do dwell on things you will or will not do because it screws you up when you acually start trying out (hope that makes sense)

Theres really no reason to be scared. Just go with the flow.

In my first season, i got my pads the day before our first practice, and then broke my stick during warm-ups.

I've never really had to worry about making a team and whatnot, but just keep your mind clear. I've seemed to notice in all the sports I play/played that it's easier to do good when your mind is clear. These past few weeks i've been playing i've had alot of stress so I have been playin like total poop. But yeah dude, just keep your mind clear, no stress, and pay attention to what's goin on in ONLY the game. I have faith in you man, you'll do good.

Think of it this way.. you're from the East Coast. You're practically better than any of us here from Wisconsin lol.

You just have to be confident and if you make a mistake don't worry about it. Believe me, when ever I used to make mistakes I would get mad at myself and it would throw my whole game off but now I have taught myself not to be afriad to make mistakes. Now if I do make a mistake I just let it go and move on.

if you dont have great stick skills there are other things you can do...show them your willing to learn, dont back down from anybody, play with fire

Yeah i've been doing what jk20jk20 said and seems to be working pretty well getting me noticed by coach, but yeah it's my first year too and i've felt nervous about tryouts since summer.....

what team are you trying out for in maine? We played the Fryeburg Academy and I have a buddy that plays for Windham...or did at least. If it makes you feel better, I'm not sure the quality of lacrosse in Maine is as good as say Maryland or Long Island. But, I was a first year player my freshman year too-and i just got a stick and played lots of wall-ball.

I don't know why, but the past couple of nights I've been having lacrosse dreams, one was, I couldn't scoop the ball, then another was at practice, it was the first day, I don't know it was just crazy, I must be my nerves, I don't know why, I'm not realy nervous,or scared though.

Anyways as jk20 said, my first season I was like that, I showed them I was willing to learn, if your coach says something like "Does everyone know what that means" and you don't, don't be afraid to raise your hand, and ask questions.
