Parisi is good, they did a demo at our Winter program over the past weekend.

But seriously, core strength is vital to speed. Abs=part of core. Strengthen your core and you will get faster.

And I highly doubt you are 210 pounds of muscle. Lose any excess weight, because if it isn't helping you, then it is slowing you down. That's the cold, hard truth.

Yeah, I know what you mean man. I am working on this same thing right now. Been doing tons of abdominal work, and as much agility as I can inside. Where is the speed clinic you go to? I think there is one that a couple of kids at Mainland go to across from their school, but IDK

I go to Oceanside gym near the FOORRMMAANN MMMILLLSSS and Boscovs. Its awesome in there. My only problem is that I dont loose weight easy at all. Anybody know a SAFE diet, where you actually eat REAL food, but you can loose the weight?

Atkins works, my Dad lost legit weight, but it means like 0 carbs.

personally I go to any and all clinics run by colleges. This atleast gets your face and abilities out to the coaches. A fomer coach and dpole for Salisbury is running a 5 week clinic near me, so I should get some good information out of that about how I can play college ball.

I just realized that you should have SEARCHED.
There are a bunch of threads like this.

DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT, use any sort of low carb dieting. The majority of weight loss is from water loss.

1. Your muscle cells (and fat cells, not sure) hold glycogen, which is obtained from Carbohydrates. Glycogen contains water. If cutting out carbohydrates, glycogen will be reduced, which in turn reduces the amount of water in your muscle/fat (again, not sure if fat holds glycogen) which means weight loss of water. also that would increase cramping and fatigue with the lack of water to hydrate the muscles.

2. without carbs, your body will be very low on its energy supply. instead of burning the carbs for energy, your body will begin to use proteins for energy, which will inturn reduce muscle mass.

the one thing with carbs though is you need to cut out the ones that arent any good. Sugars from coke and candy should be cut out, as though just SPIKE your insulin, which increases fat retention. you should try to eat whole grains such as brown rice, oatmeal, ect. and with bread, dont eat White Bread, but try for WHOLE WHEAT bread, even though that is made from flower, which can spike insulin levels.

If you wish to discuss how to get in shape, please take it to the Tactics forum. There have also been many threads on what coaches look for, especially for defenders it seems. So please search around and add to any of those threads if you wish to continue asking recruiting related questions. Thanks.
