Lately when ive been doing my curls while lifting i start getting these "shocks" of pain in my wrist. I'm not sure if its the kind of bar im using (kink bar) or the weight im using if anybody has a solution please help

i get these as well when using the EZ bar (kink), my physiotherapist freind tells me that i am relying on my thumb to bare the weight at the top of the curl and that this might be causing thumb/wrist pain. im working on a way to hold the bar to get rid of this pain ad still increase weight i think it might invlove cutting short the arc that the bar takes on each rep.

i got that and the bone in my wrist was offset to my hand and was grinding together only because of the weight

I had the same problem. You have to be more specific on what area of the wrist. My wrist would hurt using an EZ bar on the side of wrist towards my pinky. I went to a doctor and he told me I had torn some ligiment (some long word in latin) and I could either go to a specialist and he could do surgury or i could just let it heal. I let it heal for a lil and it went back but i still feel pain when I lift.

At first i thought the title said cuts+wrist=pain, i was like woah! What a freak! But now that i actually know what the title says, i feel your pain. Because of the fact that i have broken both of my wrist, i cant do wrist curls or they pop and hurt.

try a straight bar. what you are eperiencing is a walking pinky. your grip isnt up to par with the weight you are doing so your pinky starts to walk out the bar some. it hurts real bad. either that, or its a pinched nerve of some sort. try and watch your grip on your curls and get back to me.

So don't do EZ-bar curls. Look in the thread about dips for a rough copy of my arm workout. I superset bis and tris and have had a lot of success with it.

Standing alternating db hammer curls really work wonders.

www.bodybuilding.com is a good resource too

Agreed supersets and db hammers when done with proper form are amazing. also on an incline bench... yea that pain is fairly normal, get your forearms stronger it'l get better. If it hurts too much do other types of curls...

thanks guys. I talked to my coach yesterday and he said it was that i was using the inside "kink" and it put my wrists in an awkward position to the point where my bones were crushing each other at my pinky
