I haven't recieved my Feb. issue yet, this is what I had to do to get another, 3 days of leaving messages on their customer service # and twice the dummies called during the time I was in school. Their reply was" If you have a question for your subscription, please call IL from 9am to 5pm, representives are standing by" They weren't, trust me. I finally got through on the 3rd day, after at least 25 phone calls to a human voice? I told them I didn't recieve my Feb. issue. The rep then asked me, "what's on the front cover?" I said,"If I didn't recieve it, how would I know?" Her reply was, "I don't know either!" She then asked me for my name, adress, phone and said she had no records of me ever having a subscription to IL? I told her, "I've been a subscriber for at least 2 years!" She then asked me again for my adress and found out it was adressed "The... Family and it was spelled wrong, but it had the correct adress, and I told her I have been sending numerous email messages to correct the spelling of our name and I eventually gave up? She then said one was mailed out on the 18th of Jan. and couldn't understand why I didn't get it, and was I sure that I didn't get it? At this point, I was going to say, "Yeh, lady, you caught me, I was trying to rip you off for one lousy magazine!!!!" Then she say's, "make sure you resubscribe, your last issue is in March 07", I said how about sending me the Feb. issue first! Finally, she asked me, my name again and the spelling, and said, "This is the last time I can send you a replacement copy, for the magazine you did not recieve, and my reply was, is there a shortage of paper in the world, I am not aware of, or did they use all the $$$ for the calender and the face off book!! I also have to give credit due to my postman who I believe is brain dead, when I ask him if he has seen the mag. his reply is complain to the magazine, not him and he walks away mumbling to himself! All this just to get a magazine, and why is IL saying a 2 year subcripition is 22 magazines, I thought 2 years is 24 months?

i only read the end of that incredible and unnecessarily long post. i dont have the subscription at the moment, but 2 years is 24 months. but i think theres only 22 because of 1 month could be like a break month from everything, probably a fall month or summer month; september or october maybe.

It says right when you subscribe that its 11 issues a year, not an issue every month. Shouldn't you have posted this in teh IL section of the forum?

Okay so flame me, I was venting, but I do have a right to complain when I look forward to my IL, I didn't scroll down to see there was a IL forum, me bad

IL is...ish. I always get "the current months issue" about 1 week before "the next weeks issue" is released in like Borders and such. To make matters worst, the cover and like 20 pages of the magazine are always ripped. I've called IL tons of times, and when I do do manage to talk to a customer service rep. nothing ever changes. My issues are always late, and torn. The sad thing is that I keep on renewing my subscription.

I forgot to mention that in my post, what happens to you is similar to my monthly issues. Maybe "ADAM" can help us out with lousy help from IL?

Well, to be honest, that probably isn't IL's fault.
They can only ensure the care of the magazine till it leaves their warehouse/production area. What condition it comes to you in is a reflection on the mail service, unless they are sending ripped mags out the door.

I finally go through to IL again, what I am complaining about is according to IL, the magazine was sent to my adress on the 18th of Jan? Is that being patience enough, let me know when you get your issue?

Well as everyone else has said its not IL's fault. If they say they sent it on Jan. 18th they probably did. However, after they sent it it got lost in the mail or the mail service in your area is slow.

No one is reading the 1st post I wrote, I was telling everyone about my "Chat" with a IL rep and how it took me 3 days to get through and how they called once during school hours? I already said my postman was wacked, however after paying $35.00 a year, I shouldn't have to wait 1 month to get a issue? I shouldn't be told to be "patient", I shouldn't be told by IL, "we have no record of your subscripiton" and I shouldn't be told " there's nothing wrong with my issue, they arrive great" I want MY isssue, not somebody elses? For $35 bucks a year, I have a right to vent! Just send me my IL that I paid for!! If you know somebody at IL that can get me my copy, I would appreciate it, but how would YOU know if they sent the mag or not?

your problem is with the post office, not with IL.
I produce a national weekly magazine, and we have many problems with the post office. Once my magazine (or IL) leaves the printing facility there is nothing that we can do to speed the process or make it arrive in good condition.
did you tell them that you would be at school? you cant expect them to call you in the evening when you are home, they work 9-5. its not their fault that you cant answer a phone during their business hours.
lastly, given your charming attitude in this thread, and what i know about my magazines customer service people, and the dealings ive had with IL's customer service people, i really doubt that you were told ANY of those things other than that they have no record of your subscription, because the software used to track subscriptions looks and feels like it was written for the apollo space program.
it would do you well to learn some respect for others, especially when they are trying to help you

In my opinion, the customer service people are very friendly and helpful. I've only dealt with them by email (you may want to try that instead of trying to call after you get home from school) and they always emailed me back right away. They also resent an issue when mine didn't arrrive (post office problem, probably, but they express mailed me another copy). They also worked with me, despite the issues of mailing overseas or to APO addresses.

Spenny, just because you are a mod, doesn't give you the right to think I am lying about the conversation I had? Do I have to put it on Youtube for you to believe me, and I don't care if you are the producer of a national weekly magazine, who cares? Your pompous remark about my thread is the same as the excuse as IL gave me. From now on, I'll buy my mag in a store, BTW, you have a charming attitude as well? Now because I disagree with you, I'll get banned!

You need to back up and take a breath. You're getting some spot on advice from people who are in the know on stuff like what you are complaining about.
1. People have jobs. People go to school. Unfortunately, often jobs and school happen at the same time. Does that mean IL service reps have to work other than normal hours because you are in school? No.
2. The magazine has no control over the condition you receive your copy of their magazine in. They are only responsible if it leaves their production line ripped to shreds. They are also only responsible for when they put their magazine in the mail, not when the USPS finally gets it to you. Since I'm pretty sure nobody is purposefully holding back your issue, again, your problem is with the USPS.
3. Stop thinking the world is against you because your magazine wasn't pristine. Nobody argued that they weren't a little off in not having you as a subscriber, that is their (IL's) screw up. Other than that, you are complaining to the wrong people about your problems. You've been told this by a bunch of members now. You probably won't get banned for disagreeing with a mod, but you should get smacked for being completely unable to listen.
