This thread is to post highlight reels in that you made, possibly for suggestions and critique, but NO criticism related to skill. I've wanted to see what all of you guys trying to get recruited are sending to coaches, and we all loved to be wowed by the "kryptics" on the forum, so to speak, and there talent. Additionally, there are guys on here who have been recruited and have been through this whole process who could probably provide valuable input to those trying.

So what is your highlight video like?

lots of GB and assists, and finishing the ball form all part of the field. im an attack so ridin/ D-fence is a big part too.

that guy kept getting in the way. honestly i think he got lucky alot. that defense sucked. on the first goal, and shouldn't have been able to run around like that without losing the ball. on the one where he brought it up across midfield, he didnt even try to dodge on the kid, just tried to walk through him. on the one where he got the feed from across the field, his D man was more than 10 yards away from him, and the goalie didnt even try to jump out and hit him.

this video makes him look good, but if a coach saw this, he would know that alot of the skill came from a poor defense and goalie.

i wouldnt use this as a recruiting film at all. i would try to get him doing this good against a good team, and critique that film and make him look REALLY good and use that one. although we all know coaches dont want the highlight reels.

Is this thread that wants recruiting videos that one might actually send to coaches, or highlight reels? There is a difference and it needs to be figured out soon. Videos that are not going to be sent out to coaches, should not be posted. It has been discussed many times what to include on a tape that is going to be sent out to coaches. If you want to post highlight reels, take it to General.

Plus, the kid looks like he's still in middle school. Give him a break, none of those kids have probably been playing very long.

This was for videos that are going to be sent to coaches. That was the intention atleast...

But you don't want anyone to critque them on actual skill, only on what to include in the video? Haven't we been over what to include in videos? So then this basically becomes a thread for people to watch other people play. I suppose it would be fine if you wanted to see what skill has gone where (looking at videos from people who have already been recruited), but other than that, I don't really see the purpose to this thread. Feel free to explain to me where you're coming from though, and I'll be happy to keep it open. I'm just missing the point I guess.

To enjoy watching other people, who you may or may not be competing with for a spot on a college team next year, play. And when I said "critique," I just meant no harsh criticism (for you moderators sake)! I liked watching kryptic's highlight reel, and know others did, so I've inquired to see what other kind of talent is on the forum. Understand now? It's just a thread...

You could start here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_editing_software#Closed-source_freeware

"Freeware" means it's free, of course...

The video that MidwestLAx101 posted was a video that the kid's friends made just for fun, he isn't gonna actually send it to any coaches.

Yes, I understand. We have a video megathread though, so there needs to be a line drawn which will separate these videos from them.

So, that being said, this can stay open, so long as the videos and talk pertain only being recruited (no tricks, no highlights of big hits etc). Don't post anything you wouldn't send to a coach. As soon as the topic gets out of hand and people start believing their coaches and tell others if they're good enough or not (like in previous thread), this thread will be closed.

What do you suggest to put a d-pole video? GB's and checks or what?

A game tape. If you search, there are a bunch of threads. Just a suggestion.

Anyone have a real video they sent to coaches? I'm curious about the skills of some of my fellow TLFers. I will post mine after this spring.
