Technically they are exhibition games for both teams since the game wouldn't count toward getting to the post-season for the club team either. If it's listed as a game or an exhibition then you can bet both teams are playing to win. If it's listed as a scrimmage, then probably both teams are using it more as a practice.

I played D1 and during spring break we would go down to Florida to practice and we would get in a couple scrimmages against college club teams. We went in thinking it would be more of a game situtation practice but soon found out that these teams were coming out gunning. Usually after about 3-5 mins we would get our act together and play for real. I guess we were spotting them a couple goals.

Siena College, and we played Florida everytime we went and the year before we got there they played Michigan, believed they lost to them. We would also get a run in with a post colliegate team too.

That's right. Michigan beat Siena 13-4 at Disney about 7 years ago. I think that's the only time they've played a D1 team during the regular season since MSU lost their program. They scrimmage D1 teams in the fall almost every year though, and they play D3 teams both in fall scrimmages and spring games.

Yeah, I was also curious when I saw Notre Dame's schedule (the one in California D2). They seem to play club teams as well as Whittier which is D3. Is this just because of their location and the lack of divisional schools?
