Whats the craziest thing you've ever done for a lacrosse ball?

So here I am playing wall ball earlier today with a friend and we have this brilliant idea to see who can hit the top of the wall without having the ball go over. Keep in mind that this building was probably around 40 feet high. After a few attempts of hitting about 3/4 of the way up I decide to go for the gold and aim for the top of the wall. Of course, the ball barely misses the top and gently glides over onto the roof. And, of course, it was the only ball we had. With a considerable amount of daylight left, we had no other option than to try and somehow get on top of that 40 foot roof and get our ball back. So, we walk around the building (which is an old, brick elementary school) looking for a way to the top. We finally find an old shed about 10 feet high that connects to the side of the building. From there we see that there are sections of the building that are lower then the one where the ball is at, so we can keep climbing up these lower sections to get to the top. Living in Maine, there is always that other factor we have to deal with in the winter and that is snow. We realize that roof is covered in snow and ice. So, here we are, amidst a few onlookers looking at us very strangley, trying to climb this fourty foot elementary school that is covered in snow up to our knees and coated in ice where you least expect, risking our lives to get this damn lacrosse ball. We finally manage to get to the top of the building with nothing worse then very wet shoes. We find the ball and begin our way down. Of course, my cell phone manages to find its way out of my pocket and smashes into pieces when it hits the ground, but whatever, at least we get to play lacrosse now, right?

just wanted to share my story and wondering if anyone else has done anything crazy to play lacrosse...

the farthest ive ever gone to get my lacrosse ball was chasing it down the street for a few blocks downhill after it missed the net at my friends house

Yah, but your missing the whole point of the story. Now my girlfriend can't call me all the time and bug me when I'm playing lax with my friends. So, I like to think that I got a pretty good deal out of this. Plus the phone was a piece of junk and was bound to break soon. The ball was in perfect condition. I couldn't just let it go.

i got hit by a truck trying to get a ball from the street. i live by a park, and the park rangers are clumsy, and my ball rolled into the street. then i go pick it up, and lucky me, a park ranger starts driving down the road.(probably 15 feet away) then i get hit by the truck. lucky for me, the truck was about 3 feet off the ground, and when i got knocked over, it drove OVER me. i was oh so lucky.

i was at my friends house in NY state. and i got stuck there when there was like 8 feet of snow. we decided it would be a good idea to get on his roof and play lax, so we went out there and the ball took a wierd hop and went into the snow. we spent the next hour and a half digging a tunnel 8 feet deep following the hole the ball made, and eventually we found it and decided to go back inside.

whoa thats really a crazy story.... that must be a great story to exaggerate at parties lol, but ive sprinted into my neighbors back yard who has two huge dogs and had a foot race with those dogs for a ball that went over, then i did a flying jackie chan jump over the fence just as the dogs were about to eat me alive. it was honestly the scariest thing ive EVER done

I once swam to the bottom of the ocean, fighting off sharks and mermaids and finally found the ball. But I was attacked by a 300 foot octopus and had to swim all the way to the surface and swim 400 miles back to land. Not really. My friend once ran across a highway chasing my ball which my other friend had managed to launch all the way over the 30' high backstop in my backyard.

haha. I sorta did that, but the bush was on a slope, and right against the fence at school. So i had to keep my balance while getting battered with deadly thorn bushes trying to scathe my beautiful skin will pressed against a cold hard fence.
Yielded 2 balls, which I promptly placed in my book bag which mysteriously disappeared by the end of the day.
So, it was kinda pointless. The book bag mysteriously disappeared for 3 months and mysteriously showed up in gym office over winter break.
So finally after months of wondering the whereabouts of my beloved bag and balls we have finally been united.

If it was the only ball i had around, I'd probably do anything (even the 40ft, ice covered rooftop). But I have like 80 balls in a bucket so if I spend to much time looking for one (in my backyard) I'll just grab another one. cause I know it will show up later when I'm looking for a future lost ball.

When we were about to close our pool of course there was a few lacrosse balls at the bottom so i had to swim to the bottom and get them. Now keep in mind the heater hadnt been on in a couple weeks and the water was freezing cold.

i had to pull a ball out from between a neighbors double pained window when i broke the first one but not the second one. it was lodged in there with broken glass all over the place. i didnt know they were home so as im trying to be all stealthy to remove the ball and book it but when i looked up their dad was standing on the other side staring me down. it was really uncomfortable

where I live there is this outdoor box and surrounding one of the sides is a hill with tons of prickle bushes on a hill. I was down there by myself practicing and its sort of a secluded area. I took a shot(too bad it wasnt a good one) and it went into all the prickle bushes. So I went out and looked for it. I saw the ball resting on the ground but it was held up by a prickle branch so it didnt roll all the way down the hill. That week it had rained a lot and the hill was all muddy. Any way I started carefully walking down one of the paths a hobo had made, I made it to where my ball was but there were a few prickles in my was so I tried to pull it up with my stick and I jared it loose and it rolled all the way down the hill. So I cursed and started to hit the prickled with my stick to make a path through them. I started walking down again to my ball that had been stuck on a fence and I slipped in the mud and fell right on a pile of prickles. Now I had prickled all over my legs and arms and so I pulled them out and I started bleeding. I thought to myself I might aswell keep going. I go to the bottom and finally got my ball. On my way up I fell again and got dirtier. Long story short I made it to the top but I was muddy and bloody and it was like 20 minutes before my try out started.

ive done that down my street, which turns into an abc street, so when i was chasing the ball i almost caused an accident :wow:

ive also done cartwheels for one before, i had to do like 50.

and finally, when we screw around on the weekends, we tend to lose some balls to thick woods that are always muddy, no matter what. so i go in there and recover the balls that are lost, and get to keep them. problem is that they take a really long time to find and i get really dirty doing it. i ruined a pair of shoes digging for balls, and i only found 2 lax balls, but like 100000 baseballs.

I was out at Moose Krause at Notre Dame, and there had been a game recently, I crawled through a bunch of mud and trash under the bleachers, and then his for like a half an hour from some people running track around the field. I was full of dirt, and my shoes were really dirty. It was worth it though, it even says "Meets All NCAA & NFHS Specs' and then 'CHINA' in big, bold letters. I know a lot of Lacrosse balls say that, but when I found it it was so clean and shiny, and it says deBeer on it, and thats a brand I haven't seen very much. Plus it's from Notre Dame, and you can't beat that! I'mholding it right now, its pretty soft feeling too, and it's also special because it's yellow. Yep, It's my prized possesion.

The most strenuous activity i've ever had to do to get a ball is pop my trunk. I mean, i've had to chase them down though neighbors yards and what not. But in my yard i've never HAD to go find balls, i've got enough just sitting around.

well i never did anything too crazy for a lax ball but once i shot a practice hockey puck (the orange hollow rubber ones) through a big screen tv and had to climb in it to get the puck back. The tv was already slightly broken and was sitting in my garage to get fixed and I made a bet with my dad i could get the puck threw with a wrister and yea it went right through. Needless to say the tv got thrown out after that and my mom wasnt very happy.

middle of a upstate NY winter, i punched through the ice of a creek outside of my shcool with the butt end of my stick to try to get these 3 balls there. couldn't reach them, so i ended up walking across the ice. it held until i punched through again right over the balls, then i went in almost up to my knees. it was about 15 degrees out and on my way home my pants legs froze and i could hardly walk. but hey i got 3 lax balls out of it! lost them all the next week...

I find the ball on the opposite side of the river (it's a really thin river). As I prepare to cross the river, I notice a poop-load of bees swarming around the ball. After thinking about how to get the ball, a giant muskrat kinda thing runs through the bushes and into these other bushes near the ball. At this point I have no idea what kinda animal is right next to my ball and there are a bunch of bees flying around. In the end I inch my way over and with my stick, I quickly roll the ball towards me within scooping distance, scoop it up, then bolt out of there.

so here we are at an away game with three hours to kill before our game. we are at the local park so me and a couple friends decide to walk around a bit. we find a drainage pipe, the kind that run under roads and come out the other side. anyway, we found this pipe and decided to find out who could throw the lacrosse ball through the entire pipe. you might be able to figure out how that ended up. so with our only ball stuck halfway down the pipe guess who is picked to crawl in and get it. so here i am crawling through a drainage pipe barely wide enough with a d-pole in hand and my friends hitting me in the butt as hard as they could (didn't help) to get a lacrosse ball?! after about a minute of scooting my way through and reaching with the stick i finally managed to get the ball out. so i crawl out and give my friends i little thanks for hitting me in the butt the entire time.

I have a bunch of very big juniper bushes in my back yard that cover a big hill behind my goal. Over the period of the year i have lost about 50 balls in there, so one day i decided just to tear the bushes out with my dad. As we were tearing them up, we came across three snakes (all poisonous says my neighbor) and a couple of very large spiders. I found 34 balls, all of which became hopelessly doo doo balls....I HATE DOO DOO BALLS

So this summer i got a Maverik Wonder XCEl and was i was walking to my friends house i dropped this brand new beautiful white ball in this creek so i quickly dove in before it floated away/ sunk to get it and well my stick got wet but i still made it to my friends house
