 Where to start?
Well, a couple of years back I was in a "House Lacrosse Competition"
(My school has a "house" system. Think of Harry Potter and you'll get the idea).
Before this competition started, we found that within my age group at the school, the team's goaltender WASN'T in our house, so we needed to find a replacement.
As a result, I (being the only member of the house with any goaltending skill, and being the only one insane enough to take the position) was made goaltender. So, relinquishing my usual midi position and padding up with borrowed goaltending pads from the school's storage, I took my place in the cage (I'm a built guy, I filled it).
During one match in particular, My defenders went a bit haywire for about 30 seconds (they picked the worst 30 seconds, believe me) and decided not to listen to me. As a result, the opposition pulled off an impressive fast break, nailing my defenders and I was left alone in my defending third.
The attacker came up to me and had the perfect opportunity for a time and room shot, so he took it.
Unfortunately, on this day I wasn't wearing a box, so as he released his shot, I went to save it and lo and behold, was hit in the crown jewels!:imparied: I have never known pain like it! I was floored for at least a couple of minutes.
Being a time and room shot, it packed some royal punch and I hit the floor really fast. As there was no replacement goalie at the time, and only a minute left in the game, the game was ended and I crawled/staggered off and sat on the bench.
I came to find that later on, the attacking man in question was a close friend of mine.
My dad saw the whole thing and he didn't shut up about it for a good few weeks!
Does anyone else have any funny experiences to share about their lacrosse lives?
:bye:
