Ok, so I got my Ipod Video a couple days ago and have yet to be able to put a video on it.

I've read the Videora Tutorial (on videora.com and this website) but so far nothing has worked. I've already ripped the DVD I want to put onto my Ipod and have converted it twice. The first time I converted it into the wrong format (which took 8 hours to convert), but the second time I converted it to MPEG-4 (which took 2.5 hours) and put it onto Itunes.

When I tried to upload my Ipod it said the video couldn't sync because it is "unable to play the format" (or something like that) on my Ipod.

I've found out I can convert the video on Itunes so it will run on my Ipod, but so far it's been an hour and it's maybe 5% complete. I've read numerous tutorials/articles but so far nothing has worked/helped.

I downloaded the 2.02 version of Videora if that makes any difference. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it because this is extremely frustrating.

It's much longer than what it sounds like you think it is, but there is a tutorial...

That was the tutorial I read...But, that's using the version 1 Videora, I have Version 2.02 so it was hard to follow, but I was able to get all the settings to be the same or similar. However, it still isn't working for me.

Does anyone even know what format videos have to be in for an Ipod to play them?

are you converting to the right format? Videora lets you choose what to convert to. Pretty sure Ipods play AVI?

I thought they played MPEG-4? That's what I converted to anyways (also what the Tutorial tells you to convert to I think). I'll try converting to AVI tonight...I hope I can get this figured out soon.

try using this tutorial. I found the one here a bit confusing

I actually did use both tutorials and nothing worked. Is it maybe because I was using a burnt DVD? I'm trying an actual DVD now and we'll see if it makes any difference.

I don't think it would. doesn't Itunes convert ceirtain types of videos?

They do and I had one going, but it had been left alone for 6+ hours and was barely half done. I'm really lost now because I can't even convert my ripped file of Swordfish...Like it'll start converting and for literally 3 seconds complete itself (all numbers, progress, everything goes away like nothing happened). Looks like I'm going to have to buy my movies from now on :(
