i was just wondering, how many of u guys hate baseball. I just moved from maryland to a place where baseball is the big thing and it is driving me crazy :banghead:

My school's baseball team is struggling to fill a JV and Varsity team. My school's lacrosse team has 50 kids trying out for varsity, and only 18 will make it. There are 33 seniors trying out. We have over 100 kids trying out of varsity and JV. Despite lacrosse's popularity, it gets absolutely no respect. Baseball is seen as the sport athletes do and lacrosse is the sport for people that can't do anything else.

The way riot is saying it, I agree, that part sucks, but I've got to be honest, I don't hate baseball, I love to watch Yankee games, maybe play a baseball video game now and then, just because we share a season is no reason to hate it, it's another sport, and we are all athletes.

it's not so much that i hate baseball, it's more so that some kids are glorifying baseball while completely dissing lacrosse(not even considering it a sport)

I used to play baseball too when i was way younger, but i get really offended for the reason that baseball is glorified and lacrosse is not even considered a sport at my school

Well, around 8-10 o'clock(start time) on those summer nights when I'mnot doing anything, I like to watch a game once and a while, there's nothing else to do, and if you have a team you really like it, and pull for, then it makes it easier to watch.

i used to like baseball, back in little league. i was a nasty 1st baseman. but now, i really cant stand it. especially baseball in my school, they get everything. my lacrosse team raised money last year and part of this year to get new jerseys because ours really suck, but instead of using the money we raised to get the LACROSSE team jerseys, they sent it on painting the dugouts, and new uniforms for baseball. the athetic director said the money went to the booster club(sports buying stuff) and was distributed where it was needed. obviously the baseball team didnt like last years brand new uniforms, and wanted new ones.

trust me. Ive been tryin', but my dad's in the military. This is actually my second year living in albuquerque, and the absence of lacrosse drove me crazy all last year. There's also the terrible school system, lack of beaches(or anything else with water), and ridiculous popularity of baseball. Ive been tryin to start somethin here, but so far im the only high schooler that really knows how to play.

i had a thread about this a while ago, basically my school has a new program and the baseball players say the lacrosse players only play lax because they can't play baseball. It's true most of us suck at baseball but we are all more athletic than the baseball kids.

We pretty much get no respect for our sport and get small turnouts for games, but who cares? It's the best sport ever.

I like baseball.
I played all my life and played lacrosse and baseball at the same time for 3 years..But once in HS you have to choose, and I'll never chose baseball over lax, or anything over lax.

Basically, the story of my school is that the baseball players always rag on the lacrosse players. They say that our whole team consists of people who were cut from baseball which isn't true at all. Baseball has had new jerseys every year and they just got customized cleats. The lacrosse team has crappy brine pads that are about 5 years old.

Baseball is a fun sport. Granted its not the fastest sport on two feet, but it is fun and relaxing sport. All you baseball haters gotta realize that we are all athletes. Ya, we are more athletic, but we're all athletes :thumbsup:

Its a love hate relationship. Baseball ruined both my shoulders, which is why i now play lacrosse... Not happy about the injuries, but its fun for me.

Sure men play lacrosse and boys play baseball..
But baseball isn't a bad sport. Sure you don't do a lot of running, there is no contact, and a lot of it is standing around, they all play for a reason. I played rec leagues for fun through eighth grade, but I started getting serious about lacrosse around eighth grade too.

I agree that baseball is fun(in a relaxing once in a while way), but it not that we hate baseball players because they are baseball players. We hate them when they start dissing lacrosse because baseball's been established longer. I personally hate hearing that baseball players are tougher or more manly, when lacrosse is a contact sport. I also hate to hear that baseball players are more athletic when lacrosse is way faster paced and requires way more athleticism. We could go back and forth all day with you baseball likers on TLF, but the point is that lacrosse players don't want to hear from other people that baseball is in any way more of a sport.

we have had so many fights between baseball kids and lax kids. i think it started because lax kids always talk crap about baseball and now they want to rebel. like i have this sweater, and on the back there'sa pic of a defender laying out an attackman and the bottom says, "can't handle it? try baseball!", and this has already gotton me into a fight with a baseball kid. even our coaches(lax vs. baseball) hate each other. our coach always tells us if we can't handle it to try out for baseball, and the baseball coach proabbly say stuff too. so our teams have our own rivalry. (lax vs. baseball)

My brother plays baseball and I have been trying to get him to play lax. I have to go to a lot of his games and watch, it is pretty boring. The only baseball i like to watch is when the red sox are playing.I used to play softball but then I decided to play lax. That was the best decision of life.

Apparently not or he wouldn't have said it. The motion your shoulder goes through during a pitch is one of the most awkward and unnatural things you can do with your arm (besides a deformity or injury). Lacrosse isn't using the same unnatural motion, so it more than likely uses different muscles/muscle motions.

Alot of baseball players that talked crap on lacrosse last year are trying to switch sports this year. They always said what an easy sport it is, and how you don't need to be any sort of athlete. At a preseason captains practice today, they couldn't cradle, pass, catch, dodge, ANYTHING. They made fools of themselves. I love when ignorant and cocky people get it shoved back in their face (that goes for anyone, not just baseball players) .

I can truly say I hate baseball.

Baseball is the anti shiz, they think they are tough but they have never(excluding some) played a real sport. They say what is harder Hitting a base ball or Stoping a lax ball, the baseball is 90mph and it will bascily be in an area of 1x1 feet. For lacrosse there is a 6x?4? foot goal an area of 24 feet with a 100 mph rubber bulet fyling anywhere including you wangadingdong and other places and not to mention the fear!, now you tell me wich is harder?
