Hey guys, I have been contemplating making a jima order and was just wondering which you guys suggest. I have used hard, but I cant say I have used cata. Would you suggest it for someone who does faces or just stick with reg. hard? Opinions and statements much appreciated guys, thanks!

for someone who does faceoffs I'd suggest an old peice of mesh lying at the bottom of your stringing box.

Don't get cata for faceoffs. It will get soft but not soft enough for the ball to push it down when scooping. I suggest some old broken in hard.

personally i like reg. hard better. Catapultion takes a while to get soft where as hard doesnt take as long. but catapultion is a great choice if u play in a lot of rainy games.

I prefer Cata but if you are doing face offs then you should go with semi-hard instead of hard because the mesh wont push back down easily when your doing face offs

I prefer hard, but in your case I would suggest semi-hard since you'll be taking face-offs. I don't like how slow the release is with catapultion and the only reason I even use it is for a rainy day stick

Definately no cata for faceoffs, because its double thick the ball gets stuck in it really tight, every time on faceoffs, I would actually recomend semi hard

If you have a separate FO stick, I'd just suggest getting some American, Canadian, semi hard, etc.

Uhh, Why won't broken in mesh be consistent.

My mesh is very broken in, ranging from cata, canadian, hard, 8d, and the like, and all of which are basically soft now and still consistent..

Semi-hard is the way to go for face-offs. It basically feels like broken in hard mesh right when you get it.

id say get reg. hard cuz cata is hard at first but then it gets way soft and a good peice of reg. hard mesh is way better.

I still don't get why you said old mesh is inconsistent..

if your looking for mesh just to faceoff with, string it with soft. I play with soft and i restring my stick maybe every 2 weeks so it works out great. the mesh never is in my stick long enough to bag out or go illegal but still gives me great hold when going through the D players at the restraining line when i get a fast break off the face.
