Anyone else watch this on fox?

Its pretty funny seeing that some people ranging in age...usually 30-40's. Dont know general elementary school stuff.

It is also hosted by my bud, Jeff Foxworthy. (well, not my 'bud' But, I know him and his kids and stuff...So, acquaintance more so.)

Discuss things that you find interesting/funny about that show.

It is funny how people don't know some of the stuff. If you didn't win a million on that show, you should seriously reevaluate your life. Is the sun a star?

They should give the money to the kids, and take the contestants who can't get past the $5000 question, and lock 'em up.

i tivo'ed it last ngiht, and I was disapointed. First there was only like 6 questions asked in the whole 30 minutes. I also got tired of the kids constantly giggling. They obviosuly edited out of the people who actually got them right. How do 4/4 5th grader actors know that andrew johnson was the 1st prez to be impeached?

I went to elementary/a year of middle school with his daughter/niece, and have met him, and been to his house numerous times.

Yup.

Although I'm one of those not at all southern (except for saying "y'all" occasionally) southerners.
Southern accents bug the crap out of me.

But my gun rack does have a gun rack on it.

I am not sure how sold I am on the show. Definately like the concept behind it but I don't really think the question that Andrew Johnson being the first impeached president is an elementary school problem or that all of those kids would've known it. I didn't know the answer. Some of them though are really easy, I would definately want to go on this show.

Also, what if a 5th grade teacher was on the show? Would they just not allow that?

Not only this hooligan, but they should take anyone who cannot get past any of the questions and shoot them for being a disgrace to the American Society.

OK maybe not shoot them but force school them again or somethign like that.

But anyways, I watch this show and it is just a disgrace how stupid people are these days. It is right out of a 5th grade text book, most questions are at lower levels, and people, including a UCLA LAW STUDENT didn't know the first impeached president.

I mean, I didn't either, but then again I'm not a graduate of a prestegious law school.

Yeah I watched it, it was ok, but i agree with whoever said there were too many commercials, i mean only six questions in 30 minutes? I knew most of the questions, but I also think some weren't elementary school, but the adults still should have known them.

I couldn't watch it. I almost puked. That is the most rediculous show EVER to grace the screen of my television. Please, I encourage everyone on these forums to write a letter to the producer saying:

"Dear Mr. Producer,

You suck at life, please go kill yourself. Have a great day.

Sincerely,
Cali feeder"

Honestly. That was a disgrace to television. Just the overall quality of the show, the fake laugh the kids had, and how a problem involving the equation A = 1/2BH is a fourth grade math problem. Absolutely rediculous.

A=1/2BH is indeed late 5th grade math. I remember learning it.

I don't know for sure, but unless your very advanced, I doubt you learned it in 5th grade. Think about it, a lot of questions involving A=1/2bh [Area of a triangle for you slow people] give you H and the area and ask you to find B, how is a fifth grader going to know that before he even learns algebra..

I gaurentee that the average/slightly advanced fifth graders are not learning that.
That is high school geometry.

.......there was only like 6 questions asked in the whole 30 minutes........

Regardless of how painfully dumb the contestants were made to look, this was by far the worst part. I mean every time they finished asking a question, it was just about time for a commercial break.

For whatever it's worth, I scored perfect except for that impeachment question, but hey, I have never taken an American history course and the only stuff I know well is where it crosses my own country's history.

Geez though, when you get down to it, even I should have gotten Johnson - After I heard the answer, I remembered that they kept mentioning his name when the Clinton nonsense was going on a few years ago.

That game isnt really fair. i mean if you were in school learning this stuff of course you would know it better then someone who hasnt learned that in 20ish years. The adults most likely knew it at one time.
anyways. this is just more evidence to support the fact that the things you learn in school, you'll never use again.

What algebra do you need to solve that problem? If you are given the base and height all you have to do is PEMDAS, which I definitely learned if 5th grade if not 4th. Also, remember the numbers are going to be really easy, like the base is 2 and the height is 3.

Well, think of it like this, Say they give you The area=25, then at which point they give you the base=5.

The problem would be
A=1/2BH
25=1/2[5]H

How are you going to get H by itself without algebra. You have to solve for H, doing what you do to one side, to the other, which is what algebra is..

I did an intro to algebra when I was in 5th grade. It was like an advanced thing though.

Anyways I missed the show, I was watching Duke lose instead (I'm a UNC fan so that was pretty sweet watching). I'll try to remember the next time it's on. Is it always on at the same time and on Wednesdays?

The answer is 10!

i have been in highest level math since 6th grade and i know that we either learned that geometry in either 7th or 8th

Which is why I said if you are given base and height you are not using algebra......

Oh my god. These people are so dumb. This woman last night had to use one of her hints to figure out how many sides a trapezoid had. I told my friend that to get on a show you must take a test and the lowest scores get in.

I think I figured out this show's appeal. They're getting the people who aren't even smart enough to compete in "Deal or No Deal".

I took the quiz.

Less than 30 seconds later, I'm sitting here wondering how smart today's fifth graders really are. I do know for sure none are going to score higher than me.

Anyway, looks like we have a quiz show designed to let morons playing along at home feel good about themselves when they "score" higher than the fool who is actually playing.

that guy was such a moron. One no one would sell you a lamborghini if they knew u were gonna do a como paint job on it. And anyone that would should be smacked upside the head. And then he was trying to figure out howmany teaspoons are in 5 tablespoons. and he's all like well i'm gonna say there are two in each tablespoon. So 2 x 5 = ((pause with a stupid look on his face)) oh 10. OMGosh!!!!!!! but still funny. but slow.
