hey guys,
I need a new stick and I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I play the midfield area, are there any particular sticks / shafts good for this area? the synergy was big on my team this year and I was wondering what you guys thought. so I'm not completely lost in the stick area but your hep would be greatly apreiciated! I also need a good shaft... I'm one of those people who a good shaft is REALLY important too

synergys are really... to flexible, they'r eonly good if you play on artificial turf. tempest rocks! and a harrow shaft for a stx composite shaft is nice. it has a good grip.

I'm going into my 3rd year playing...would the tempest be good for me? I think right now, I'm between the tempest, apex, or tenacity although there's something a little off about the tenacity that I don't like. I've never played witha tempest before, but the store I go to I can try it out. How is is on ground balls? does it hold the ball in well? and I relaly want to try a harrow shaft but I live in Mass. and in the harrow website they don't have an mass. retailers yet. They say "coming soon" but who knows how long that will take. i might just order it..... do you use the tittle 9? should the flex point go on the top or the bottom? wow, this is kinda long....he he he. thanks for all the advice laxbabe. when I get my new stick and get closer to dyeing, you'll be hearing from me more often ;) let me know what design you come up with. I was thinking of the squiglies like your current stick and then maybe righting my school name in orange on the top....i'm not sure yet. Do you use the powder or liquid dye? okay, thanks again!

I would say it the stick depends on what position you play. I dont know much about the Tenacity. I do know a bit about the Tempest and Apex. I'd say that the tempest is more an attack stick because the sidewalls are narrower (giving more accuracy on your shots), the pocket is a bit smaller than the apex (making shots faster and harder). The Apex is more of an all around stick. It's got great hold. It's great for long passes. I dont think there is much of a difference between ground ball pick ups on these two. I have, however, known defenders that play with the Tempest and like it. It's all a matter of preference I'd say. The apex is great everywhere, whereas the Tempest is more tailored for attack. And thats all I have to say about that...

Hmm...I would not reccomend the Tenacity. Too weak. The pocket has to be adjusted constantly. The Tempest and Apex are both great sticks. I'd use the Tempest if you play mid-field. Be aware though that the lax companies will be coming out with new heads soon. DeBeer has the Impulse coming out, etc.

The Impluse is basically a modified Tempest. Its got a different sidewall look and level of drop on it is different. Its leagal for intl play and has a different scoop too. It should be out soon. Word was that the neck of the head did not fit the shafts so they had to go back to the drawing board a little bit but it should be out soon.

I've thrown around a little bit with the Impluse and I think its good. I know some college laxers who have it too and they like it a lot. If you like DeBeer go for it.

I have a debeer tempest and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I play attack wing, a midfield position, and it has been nothing but awesome so I would def reccomend it to anyone playing middie.

Haha. Both of my goalies on my club team play field once in a while too. Both use the Tempest I believe.
