my stick was throwing into the ground because of too deep of a pocket. so i tightend up the sidewalls (they were open sidewalls before) and i tightend the bottom at the throat, it throws perfect now but ive got a lot of rebound now. it was never a problem before. i guess what im asking is this. is there a happy medium that i can get so it throws good and still has a deep enough pocket so it minimizes the rebound.

Take your mesh and throw it in the washing machine and turn it on. Then restring it, and it should be softer, which would be less rebound prone.

i dont know if this works but it seems to for me string your bottom semi tight with a shooter and it absorbs some of the impact

pics will help, but something ive come to realize with goalie sticks is that theres no really functional way to string a pocket that has a great throwing channel and throws well itself, and reduce the rebound. once you completely break in your mesh you wont have as much of an issue with rebound. Y28 was right, the only real way to reduce it is to have soft hands on the save. my pocket right now has a great channel and semi-decent rebound control. most goalies will tell you that a channel for throwin is more important than perfect rebound control.
just break in your mesh completely, and see what happens. also, if it is a nemesis and your working with 20d, i can help you with that instantly. a lot of people have issues with 20d and nemesis, but i can work it well. nemesis are my specialty for goalies, and 20d is definetely my favorite in there.

a good drill 4 this is to take string tye your mesh down so its like a tennis racket and practice saving then when u let it out it will feel like a vacume

yeah i agree with unholy, once you can learn the skill of soft hands. rebound will be almost non existent.

Rebounds are created when your elbows or knees are locked. It's mostly in the form, only a little bit in the stick. My pocket is around 1.5 balls deep and I can control most rebounds.
