dyeing

I'm thinking of dyeing my stick [when I get it ;) ] and I am thinking of dyeing it. My schools colors are orange and blue and I was thinking of dyeing it orange, then doing the hot glue squiglys and then dyeing it blue. The end result would be blue with orange squiglies. First of all, would this work? and second, do you think it would look good? thanks! I'm an inexperienced dyer, so all help would be great!

the orange and blue are like the same "depth" of colors. there isn't one lighter than the other. if you do decide to do that, make sure after you dunk it in ornage and put the glue gun on it, dunk it into RIT dye remover to lighten the orange dramatically, so that the blue will come out blue, and not this gross purple/black color. i'm doing my next stick blue/orange too, but so far, i ahven't come up w/ a design yet.
