I'm in kind of a predictament and I've recently learned some better priorities in life..

Currently I'm a sophmore attended South Lyon High School.
The first semester of my freshman year, I went to Detroit Catholic Central, an all male college prepatory private school, school that is by far a better school in every way [Minus Girls], Athletics, Academics and Teacher-Student Ratio easily passes SLHS in every way. Well I hated it there and I needed to switch back and go to SLHS, the way that school was setup I hated it, it felt like it was a huge drain on me, the people I disliked, the rooms were all blank, the halls had nothing. It was the most boring and life draining expirence of my life..So of course I begged to go back to SLHS.

Well, I've recently [Start of Sophmore year] realized that I should have better priorities in life.. As in education first.
And in all honesty, a 3.85 Gpa at CC looks better than a 4.0 at SLHS. So I don't know what to do. And since I wouldn't be able to switch untill going into my Juinor year, I wouldn't be able to play football [One of my three sports, because of some stupid MI law that says you can't switch schools and play sports for a semester]. So I plan on playing three sports, and if I switched back, I wouldn't be able to play Football, nor wrestle [if I end up wrestling]. And my three sports would help me get into college with the extra curricluar activities. But another down fall is that CC was number 2 in state at lax last year, losing in the Championship game, thats great, but after I play my sophmore season at SLHS, [I have a chance at being recruited], I would be playing my junior season [the recruiting season] at CC, but I'm afraid coaches would get confused and still think I'm at SLHS and then once realizing I'm not, move on, and not think twice.
I'm in a hell of a predictament.
I'm willing to go back to CC, the drain I expirenced there, I guess I could live with, it would help both my college and lax dreams. But I'm afraid that colleges are just going to lose touch with me and I won't be able to play two other sports which helps my resume, and which I like to play..

Any Advice..

Also, In retrospect, me transferring out of CC wasn't a good idea, but in all honesty, I highly doubt that I would have realized the way priorties really should be, and I would have continued down the path of ''average'' or bad grades..

I agree with Arte, you shouldn't torture yourself just to get into a good college. And in all honesty, unless you're recruitable in wrestling or football, it won't help your resume that much. There are thousands of kids that wrestle and play football, it doesn't stand out to colleges unless you're very good at it, so I wouldn't worry about it hurting your resume.
What I said was in regard to the top colleges in the country. 90% of schools don't look at your extracurriculars, it's only the very top schools. Most schools just look at your cold hard stats, it's just with, for example, the ivy league, every applicant has great academic stats, so to pick the best they look at ec's. If you are aiming for these top schools just playing football and wrestling won't stand out, unless you were captain.
However, I think it would make a difference if you really wanted to play the sports, not just for college. If you didn't want to miss those two sports because you truly loved playing them it would be different. But if it's just for college I don't think it's worth it to drag through the next two years of your life.

Hope that made sense.

Yeah, that makes sense, I truly enjoy football, ergh. Here I go on rant.
I played football at CC my freshman year, it took everything out of me, because there, football is their 2nd God. It really is, they use to run the tables in MI for a few years in football. And by the end of the season their strict practices and football 6-7 days a week was tremendous. And just took it out of me, but after taking the year off this season, I do miss it, a lot. Now is it anywhere near my two fav sports [Lax and baseball] naw. But I do enjoy it. I've always wanted to wrestle, all my life, just never got around to do it, my friends been teaching me how to wrestle. And I enjoy it a lot.

But for lacrosse, the thing is, I can gaurentee I would get more exposure at CC, than I would at SLHS, the only time I'd get exposure at SL would be playoffs [If, IF we made it semi-far] and during my summer elite and travel teams...

It's a very complicated situation..

definitely stay at slhs. regardless of what school you go to, a 4.0 is very impressive. if you really want to go to harvard or yale or any other high caliber school, then it would help to go back to dcc, but otherwise i wouldnt recommend it. as for recruiting, you will probably get more looks in the summer than you would at dcc and slhs combined, as most coaches go to tons of tournaments because their seasons are over, whereas they are still coaching during the school year.

I'm looking for Gtown.. My dream school, well that may be very very, very hard to get into, its my dream and I'm doing whatever I can to get there. I don't have a 4.0 but I have a 3.78/3.8 ish...

In all honesty, do summer teams get a lot more looks than High school teams..
I find that hard to believe, but I'm still new to the recruiting process.

Yeah also youre gpa doesn't really matter as much as your rank because at one school a 3.7 could be valedictorian while at another the val could have a 4.0, so take that into account as well if youre looking at schools like gtown.

most of the time, summer teams do get a ton more looks than high school teams because when you are playing your high school season, the college coaches also have their own seasons going on, which really limits their recruiting time and doesnt allow them to travel much, especially very far away from their school. the only exception is if they are really close to high schools, but since the only varsity team in michigan is adrian, and there are only a few teams in states around michigan, you would be better off getting on a summer team. in the summer, coaches have all the time in the world to recruit and go to a million camps and tournaments, which would allow you to get a lot more looks.

Yeah, I'm already on one summer travel team, and have elite tryouts next weekend.

Still a tough predictament because its so much more of a prestigeous school..
