I've been looking into getting a new shaft, and I've been looking at both the Warrior Heroine Power Rail and the Title IX Straight shaft... they seem to have the same general idea and are similar pricewise, so I was wondering if anyone has any advice one way or another? Thanks.

Yup, they're women's shafts. The Title IX is made by Harrow... it's a very popular carbon composite model, and the regular version has a tapered bit that is supposed to flex when you're shooting and make a harder shot. I'm not a big fan of the tapered bit though, and since I mostly play defense, I probably don't need it.

The Heroine Power Rail is made by Warrior and seems pretty similar to the Title IX straight... they also make a tapered version called the Heroine Power Wave.

I was just wondering if anyone had actually played with either of these shafts and had any useful input.

The IX tends to lose its grip after a while, but I've noticed the Heroine (or at least older ones) tends to do the exact opposite and get more of a sticky feel to them. Both will chip eventually as well, but most will take the beating and at least not snap. Is there a specific reason for why you want a composite shaft?

Right now I'm playing on a stock aluminum shaft, which is a little heavy for my liking. Also, I hate playing with gloves, which is difficult on cold/wet days when you have a metal shaft.

I've played with both. The Harrow shaft does loes its grippy feel I think within a year. My Heroine still feels sticky which is nice. I didn't really notice any more of a difference between the two other than that. I think I like the Harrow better because it feels slightly thinner but I think both are great shafts. I've had no problems with them at all.

I've played with the Heroine shaft and I love it, especially because it's thinner than the regular standard aluminim ones you get. I liked the soft grip but I didn't like it once it went sticky, there was no way to clean it and remove that feeling. It chipped a LOT - every check left a noticeable chip.

I recently bought the Title IX tapered shaft and I like that too - I preferred the soft grip of the Heroine but the tapered feature is great, and you can reverse it if you play defence so the tapered bit is at the bottom.

when i made my varsity team in 9th grade my parents got me the warrior heroine power rail. i actually chose it over the harrow because i thought it had more grip. but after a while (especially after it rained) it got really sticky and kind of disgusting and it chipped like crazy. then my sophomore year my parents got me a harrow title ix straight and i absolutely love it. it doesnt get sticky or anything. a couple of te girls on my team who have had it for a while say that theirs kind of smooths out but so far mines good. its just preference i think

If it smooths out too much, you can always use tape on it I guess! I have tape on mine anyway - at the bottom, as the end cap is a bit loose around the top part, and at the top to make the (deBeer Impulse) head fit better.

I'm just in the process of restringing it and (fingers crossed) then it will be perfect! (I hope!)
