wider masks

I can't think of any particular goalies, but every once in a while I'll see a picture of a D1 goalie that has a helmet that's mask looks wider than normal. Am I crazy or do some goalies have wider masks?

whoa, they have factory goalie helmets? Interesting. I've been playing with the same c2 for years, so I'm not very informed on new helmets.

i dont think there are factory goalie helmets, the company will just install the throat guard if you buy it ask them to

I've seen what you're talking about and I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with the Ti masks. Seeing as how Ti is harder to bend than steel (Chromanium and Standard Facemask) that it would become "unbent" and straighten out over time. I could be completely wrong, but that's my two cents.

Basically from shots it can widen out, or you can do it yourself if you're into believing that you can see better because of it. There's an old thread on it somewhere.

yeah when i had my cpro (before updated to cpx) mine bent out like craazy. i think it was just from shots from over time.

Titanium is too brittle to bend due to shots, and likely so is steel. I think some goalies have just widened their steel ones due to a belief that they can see better that way, but I don't get it personally. I don't see how you could widen a titanium one as it is too stiff.
